About this audiobook
Ariana loves her life as a schoolteacher in a little frontier town. But one evening after classes are done and she prepares to hurry home, her life changes in an instant when a band of rough outlaws abduct her and take her far away from all she has ever known.
Trapped in a small shack, Ariana prays and waits, her emotions swinging between terror and boredom as days stretch into weeks. Still, the outlaws refuse to tell her why they've taken her or what they plan to do.
Then the boss's son appears in the doorway of her cabin. He seems different from the others, but can she trust him? Will she ever again see her mother and father, the couple who lovingly adopted her and raised her as their own? Will she ever wear the beautiful wedding dress so carefully saved for her – her one remaining link to her birth parents?
An EChristian, Inc production.

- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5I ADORE this book and have read it dozens of times HOWEVER this version of the audiobook is missing the last chapter!! When the 3rd chapter ends here, it says to "turn the cassette over" and then Chapter 4 starts the book over again. I almost cried! I found it somewhere else but please fix this!
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This was one of my favorite books as a teen! I enjoyed this audio book overall. The voice that the reader uses for the main female character is a little annoying at times, but that’s my only complaint.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I have occasionally had problems reading Janette Oke's books and finding her characters somewhat the same (sharing the same personality traits, or engaging in plots that are too similar) but this book has brought me back to Janette Oke over and over again. Her characters are timeless, and the simplicity of Janette's writing style is a relief in the midst of many christian romance writers who try too hard to write and it shows up in their work. A Gown of Spanish Lace and Roses For Mama bank on my favorites list for all time.
