About this audiobook
As a Japanese-American fisherman stands trial for murder on an island in Puget Sound, snow blankets the countryside. The whiteness covers the courthouse, but it cannot conceal the memories at work inside: the internment of Japanese Americans during World War II, an unrequited love, and the ghosts of racism that still haunt the islanders. First novels rarely attract as much attention as Snow Falling on Cedars. Remaining on bestseller lists for months, it has cast a spell on readers across the country.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Extraordinary phrasing and compelling plot lines, historically, and distinctly-time-and-placed based. Absolutely, marvelously riveting .
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This is a great book exploring the Japanese American experience during world war II. the author's point of view that Japanese and American cultures are different and not right for each other did not make sense. The implication was that the love interest was better off marrying her own kind versus being with an American. Overall it's a good book I wish the author would have either focused on making it either a riveting court drama or a love story or maybe even a reflection on war during the Japanese internment. I think a little bit of everything is good enough to make this a good read but not the best
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Wonderfully written story with such a meaningful look at prejudice that could be of our times
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5The most evocative book title ever, one of my favorite novels, and now a favorite audiobook. George Guidall’s performance is exquisite. Here lies military war, racial oppression, romance, passion, self-destruction, and redemption. Among the best of the best.
