About this audiobook

Mona Lisa St. James made a deathbed promise that she would do anything to save her mother's art gallery. Unfortunately, not only is The Red painted red, but it's in the red.

Just as she realizes she has no choice but to sell it, a mysterious man comes in after closing time and makes her an offer: He will save The Red if she agrees to submit to him for the period of one year.

The man is handsome, English, and terribly tempting-but surely her mother didn't mean for Mona to sell herself to a stranger. Then again, she did promise to do anything to save The Red . . .

Contains mature themes.

My first book from this author and I must say it was not a disappointment. The story is very steamy but there is also intrigue. Smartly written, great story and fab ending???

All I knew about this book was that it was the spiciest thing people have read. And I might have to agree with that!! This book is definitely an erotic fantasy and you need to come into this with an open mind if you want to enjoy it. It'll certainly push boundaries and maybe make people uncomfortable, which is kind of the point. The premise and the mystery kept me engaged and the acts themselves were artistic and fascinating. And it was surprisingly thought provoking. I can't wait to read more from TF!!

A quick and easy read with lots of erotic details, and a great story to tie them all together. I highly recommend this. The unexpected twist at the end of the book left my jaw wide open…. It all works out in the end and everything ties together nicely.

A very kind book friend lent me The Red by Tiffany Reisz, which bumped it straight up my TBR, as Amazon loans only last for a week. However, this is a novella length read and quite engrossing, so it didn't take long to read.

This novel is fantasy, in a way that's closer to the older meaning of the world. These days when I hear fantasy, I think either "urban fantasy" or something Tolkien inspired. Instead, this is a story of imagination and wish fulfillment. The heroine does live in the contemporary world, but the events of the story take her out of that daily grind and into a series of sexual experiences with a dream lover in a range of scenarios.

Of course, the interludes with her lover affect her outlook on her real world life and her decision making. And I have to say that I was wrong in my guesses about what the truth of the situation was going to be. It's not often that my plot guesses are so completely off the mark, so it gets bonus points for that. More books from this author are definitely going on my TBR.

This review first appeared on A Weebish Book Blog.I don’t often read straight erotica. I’m mostly an erotic romance kinda gal but Tiffany Reisz is my queen, so as soon as I saw her latest stand alone was available on NetGalley to “Read Now” I knew I’d be exploring more yummy erotica and THE RED certaintly delivered. On her mom’s deathbed, Mona Lisa St. James promised she’d do anything to save her art gallery, The Red. She didn’t realize exactly what anything entailed until there was no choice but to sell or accept a strange Englishman’s offer to save The Red in return for submitting to anything and everything he could dish out for a year.“I’m not paying you a million dollars just to f*ck you. F*cking you is the least of what I’ll do to you. What I’m paying a million dollars for—minimum, mind you—is to f*ck with you.”And, boy, does he! Malcolm makes Soren’s sadistic mindf*cks look like child’s play. Out of all of Reisz’s many stand alone novels, THE RED sits atop my favorites list and Malcolm is reason numero uno. He’s a charming, mysterious, creative Englishman who’s the devil with a riding crop. He’s also got an interesting thoughts on prostitution. While I’m not 100% sold on all his ideals, his logic is rather intriguing.“I have trouble respecting a woman who gives away for free what she could sell for good money. Whores are the only women who know their own worth.”THE RED raises the question what is worth selling yourself? What is worth giving a stranger consent to do anything and everything to you? Could I sell myself to a mysterious man I know nothing about for a least a million dollars? The only answer I came up with after finishing THE RED: If the man was Malcolm. It has been a long dry spell since my last venture into BDSM erotica and THE RED was the novel to get me back in the mood for some kinky fun. In fact, I feel urge for another Original Sinners binge read in the near future. If you’re on the hunt for a new erotic adventure give THE RED a chance!

The Red by Tiffany ReiszSource: ARC from author and purchaseMy Rating: 5 ginormous starsMy Review: Sometimes, I feel like instead of a full-blown review, I can just type “F*^$ you, Tiffany Reisz. Just, F*^$ you!” and everyone who reads her and knows her work well will simply laugh and know exactly how I feel about her latest book! Unfortunately, that may be awfully confusing to those who don’t know her work, so here comes a full-blown review. When Mona’s mother was dying, Mona promised her she would do anything within her power to keep their art gallery, The Red open and operating. When the promise was made, Mona couldn’t imagine the crippling debt she would be in following her mother’s lengthy and expensive illness. With little to no revenue coming in and the bills relentlessly showing up, Mona lives in fear of disappointing her mother. It is at her weakest moment that Malcolm comes into her life with a proposal Mona’s still young and reckless enough to accept. For the period of one year, Malcolm will have access to her body for whatever purpose and position he so desires. In return, Malcolm will provide Mona with enough priceless art to keep her gallery not just open, but flourishing. Desperate and more than a little intrigued, Mona accepts. The first few encounters with Malcolm are beyond anything Mona could have ever imagined. Each encounter is based on a famous painting and each sexual encounter is more inventive and satisfying than the last. In fact, there is more than one time when Mona assumes she dreamt or even hallucinated the events of her night with Malcolm and to an extent, that scares her. Worries aside, Mona wakes the morning after each encounter completely sated and with a new (at least to her!) work of art that is worth, at the very least, hundreds of thousands of dollars. To be sure, at the end of the year, The Red will not only be financially solvent, but so far in the black as to be secure for years to come. As the month’s pass, Mona’s financial security becomes less important to her than the eventual and certain loss of Malcolm. Though some of his scenarios scare and even anger her, there is no denying the hold Malcolm has over Mona and the fact he’s ruined her for all other men. More than anything else, it is this inevitable ending that scares and saddens Mona. The Bottom Line: Holy sh*t!! Tiffany Reisz just wrote the book version of a mic drop and then sashayed out of the room leaving the rest of lying on the ground twitching!! As I said in the beginning, F*^$ you, Tiffany Reisz. Just, F*^$ you. Between the intensity of the read, the desire to know precisely who Malcolm is, and total lack of respect for my next day’s responsibilities, this book got finished in one shot at 5 a.m. I regret nothing! At its core, The Red is all about the art and the sex and I loved every single minute of this read. Only Tiffany Reisz can write a book that is roughly 85% sex and keep it fresh, exciting, dirty, and oh, so good! As always, the writing (even in ARC form!) is flawless and elegant and the ending is spot on awesome!! P.S. *^$ you, Tiffany Reisz. Just, F*^$ you. ? P.P.S. Yeah, I ordered a signed copy of this one. It owes me ?

4.5 "Deathbed Promise" Stars!Holy hotness! This book is on fire! I really don't even know what to classify this book as. It is different from anything that I have previously read or listened to by Tiffany Reisz (or anyone else for that matter!). The Red has a mysterious, fantasy subplot, but still has Ms. Reisz's incredible wit and adeptness with salacious highly erotic writing. I also loved the art world tie-ins. If you're looking for your next decadent read, then look no further! But be forewarned, this book has no limits, and includes all types of erotic scenes, including menage scenes. When her mother died, Mona Lisa St. James was left with a multitude of debts. Even worse, she promised her mother on her deathbed that she would keep open her mother's beloved art gallery (The Red) no matter the price. That price turns out to be her body--for an anonymous and highly mysterious gentleman offers to pay her riches in artwork to save her gallery if she promises to submit to his every desire for one year.  This man's desires become more morally depraved as time goes by. There will be times when she questions her choice, even as she finds herself falling in love with him. Could there possibly be a HEA under the circumstances? Moreover, not everything is what it seems. Can you figure out what's real before the end? All in all, Ms. Reisz has penned another must-read erotica romance. Once you start The Red, you will be compelled to finish--hanging on to its every word to try and figure out the mystery of what the heroine is truly experiencing and moreover lustfully devouring its every word. Mona inherited a dying art gallery from her mother after agreeing to do anything to keep the gallery. She is then visited by a man who seems to come out of nowhere (literally since she did not hear him enter her gallery) who agrees to help her save the gallery of she agrees to be his toy for a year. This has elements of paranormal erotica. The end was rather interesting, still unsure how I feel about it. Thanks to netgalley and publisher for ARC.
