About this audiobook

The Carolina Cold Fury hockey team is stacked with hotshots. But when a new player joins their ranks, he learns that even superstars can't go it alone when it comes to love.

Lucas Fournier is only serious about one thing: hockey. The league's fun-loving charmer, Luc is always up for a good prank or a great lay, and he has no intention of settling down. But being traded to the Carolina Cold Fury-and to play alongside his big brother, Max-is no joke. With another title in sight, the last thing Luc wants is to let his new teammates down. To succeed, Luc will need to keep his head in the game and the most . . . er, demanding member of his anatomy in check. But when temptation hits, Luc hits back harder.

Museum curator Stephanie Frazier has always put business before pleasure, which just about explains her nonexistent sex life. But when Stephanie meets Luc at a champagne-fueled gala, she finds herself flirting like crazy-and going home with the uninhibited athlete. For one night, she learns what passion is all about. She just never counted on the little surprise Luc leaves behind. And that's when things really start to get interesting.

Not my favorite Fury story, which was so very disappointing bc I was excited to get more of the Fournier brothers. After the 1st 15% Lucas isn’t quite as douchy. Steffie is justifiably skittish but her defiance is misplaced. While clinging to her solitude, she never really thinks my child deserves supportive friends and family. They settle into a witty give and take, but avoidance turns to frustration. Luc & Steffie come together in the end. It’s rushed and filled with promises, but nothing is really resolved. Felt more like HFN

I love Sawyer Bennett's Cold Fury series so much. I'm not a big hockey fan but it makes me want to watch a game! Lucas is another great story in her series that follows the Carolina Cold Fury hockey team and it's players. These guys don't know what hits them when their female match comes along. I get lost in the story and crave more as soon as it's done!

FIVE Stars & ONE Sitter! Yes Peeps this is my new rating system. Unless of course Life throws me a curveball and I have to adult in the middle of a book! But NOTHING can tear me away from a Sawyer Bennett book especially a Cold Fury book!

When a one night stand turns into a baby on the way, Lucas wants to make it work with Stephanie, you know for the baby’s sake! Growing to love each other in the process is what it is all about. When you have a head strong woman and a young immature hockey star about to have a baby, these two go through all the ups and downs. It gave me the giggles, laughs and tears, just like a typical Bennett book! Throw in the little sister that drops in and takes up sleeping on the couch and the roommate that seems to hate it all, and you have the perfect book!

But waiting so long for the next book… UGH!!!

Received an ARC for my fair review for netgalley. I enjoy Sawyer Bennet, but I wasn't crazy about this book, and I normally like anything hockey. But I like upbeat books, and I don't know if it is just me, but I feel like lately there is just so much drama in these going on in these books, I mean I know that they are supposed to capture our interest, I get that but, buuuuut sometimes I feel that it is just a little too much drama, but hey that is just me. You can feel totally different, So it give it a chance, because it is not a bad, in no way, shape or form am I saying that it is, it is not, Sawyer never gives us a bad book, it was just not what I was looking for.

I liked this book a lot. So far, I have enjoyed every book in this series so I went into this book with pretty high expectations and I am happy to say that they were met. Each book in this series has featured a member of the Cold Fury Hockey team but that is really where the similarities end. I am kind of amazed by how different each of these stories really are and I think that is why I still get excited when I learn about a new book being released. Lucas is the eighth book in the series but it can easily be read as a stand alone novel. The book focuses on Lucas and Stephanie. Their story has an unusual start since the book opens with them sharing a rather hot one-night stand. That one night stand leads to a more lasting situation. Lucas and Stephanie must figure out how they make things work out. It was really very interesting to see this pair get to know each other. Lucas was really the star of this book for me. He was so patient with Stephanie and seemed to instinctively know the right thing to say and do. He does have a couple of bonehead moments and there was a couple of times that I caught myself cringing because of him but these things made him seem a little more real. I am still trying to completely forgive him for one scene.Stephanie was a bit more frustrating. She really seems to have her act together but she is terribly afraid of getting close to anyone. She had a terrible childhood and it made sense that she would approach relationships with caution. I wanted so much for her to give Lucas a real chance and I couldn't help but get a bit frustrated, kind of like Lucas, when she resisted.I would recommend this book and series to others. Fans of the series will be happy to see quite a bit of the characters featured in Max since Lucas and Max are brothers. I can't wait to read the next book in this wonderful series! I received an advance reader edition of this book from Random House Publishing Group - Loveswept via NetGalley.

Sawyer Bennett’s Cold Fury Hockey series is on a winning streak with book eight, LUCAS. Luc is the younger brother of Cold Fury Hockey goalie, Max Fournier (book six). Luc was recently traded to the Fury. He meets museum curator, Stephanie Frazier, at a gala and has a one-night stand with her, but unexpected circumstances bring them back together. This contemporary sports romance is suitable for adult audiences. The story takes place in Raleigh, North Carolina.I love that Lucas was traded to the Cold Fury and that Max and Luc could play professional hockey together. Max is a great character, so I enjoyed reading more about him and getting to know Luc and their sister, Simone. The Fournier’s are a wonderful family, the opposite of Stephanie’s family. Her parents are something else. It’s amazing she is well adjusted as she is. I’m glad she had Hilda when she was growing up. Her past causes a lot of emotional issues for her.Sawyer Bennett does a fantastic job with her character development. Lucas is a remarkable guy. He is insightful and thoughtful (most of the time). He is good at expressing himself. Family is important to him. He grows up faster than he was intending. Stephanie is smart and fun. She has always relied on herself and finds it difficult to open-up to others. She doesn’t have any close friends. She has always felt unworthy. She doesn’t know what it is like to have a true family. Lucas and Stephy are good for each other. They make each other better people. They have amazing chemistry. They face multiple obstacles and become stronger for it. I enjoyed the plot. LUCAS was skillfully written and believable. The story was interesting from start to finish. I loved the characters and didn’t want their story to end. Fortunately, we get to her Lucas’ sister Simone and his roommate, Van Turner story next. I cannot wait for book nine, VAN, expected to be released on November 28, 2017. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Sawyer Bennett has created a series of books, the Cold Fury series, about a hockey team, the alpha men that make it up & the strong, sexy, stubborn women they are attracted to. Lucas Fournier has finally been signed to the same team as his brother. He's beyond happy that they have a chance to win a title together as long as no one loses their focus. That's why he's the king of one night stands. At a charity event, he meets Stephanie Frazier, the museum Director of Acquisitions. The chemistry is hot & they enjoy an intense evening that ended on an awkward moment. Fast forward a month & while celebrating another win on their hunt for the Cup, Lucas sees Stephanie again & she drops a bombshell! One look & Lucas knows everything has changed. The characters in this series all seem to have their own problems to work out. Lucas needs to realize he's been waiting for the right woman & that being with her doesn't make him weak. Stephanie needs to realize she deserves to be happy & loved. Every relationship is not like her parents'. I really enjoyed the build up as they follow through on their journey & the way Ms. Bennett conveys the start of the trust in their emotions. The story has explicit sexual scenes & dirty language but it is all used in the right context & conveys the intensity of their emotions. I can't wait for Van's story!

Lucas is enjoying life and now he's joined Carolina Cold Fury, the cup is in sight and he doesn't want to let his team mates and brother, a down, he want's to play his best games, ever. And relationships aren't for him not like some of his teams mates, that's great for them but foot loose and fancy free all the way for him.....until he meets Stephanie.Stephanie's love life has been a little dry of late, but her meeting with the gorgeous hunk of a man Luc, has her flirting like crazy....and going home with him, which is something she would never usually do. A great night, great times and unexpected surprises to boot, what more could you ask for!Loved the story. Luc was such a dedicated partner in their relationship he was great and Steph, she had a hard time excepting help and had a lot of issues she needed to tell Luc about.A great character and story development, and I loved meeting old characters and recapping on some of the previous storylines. I can't wait for the next story, Luc's roommate, Van.
