It was alright. I mostly just read it because I had read the first one. I do enjoy the poor girl/rich guy thing, and liked the characters well enough.

Not too bad of a romance. I liked Ashley and her way of speaking without holding anything back. It made for some funny conversations.

Murphy’s Law by Lori FosterLaw #2Quinton Murphy has the hots for Ashley Miles. He is rich and she is not. She has a plan that will see her secure with dreams fulfilled if she continues to work more than one job while going to college. She does not have time for romance so does not have time for Quinton. Well…that begins to change BUT there is also a stalker with bad intentions that must be found and dealt with before a HEA can be found for the two of them. This was a quick, easy, fun and somewhat predictable read. I did not read book one in the series, Jude’s Law, and have a feeling some of the comments would have made more sense and the supporting characters would have been familiar. That said, reading book one is not essential for this story to stand on its own. Thank you to NetGalley and Kensingington Publishing Corporation’s Zebra Books for the ARC. This is my honest review.3 Stars

Ashley is a girl from the other side of the tracks working overtime to improve herself & her lot I life. Her parents were constantly on state aid from the lack of desire to work. Ashley has had enough of being made fun of. Her friend May is the only one who ever stood up for or behind her. She's working two jobs & going to school to be a nurse. She doesn't have time for any man, especially a rich one like Quentin Murphy & definitely not a psychopath like Elton. Quentin has everything - money, house, great job. Everything except a woman to share it with. Ashley is so plain spoken he knows she isn't interested in his money but why is she holding him off? The chemistry is there. Hell, she kisses him senseless but then she backs off. What's going on?I really enjoyed this book. Quentin & Ashley are opposites in every way. Ms. Foster does a really good job with her descriptions & prose to show the explosive chemistry. I LOVE Ashley's character - defensive, sarcastic, witty, loving & loyal. Denny is my favorite supporting character. He may not be Ashley's father by blood but it's apparent in his actions & feelings that he feels like her father. The interactions between Ashley & Quentin, Ashley & Denny & even Denny & Tim are intense! The reader can sense deeper meanings in them but nothing is revealed until the end. I did not read Jude's Law first & didn't feel like I was missing anything but now my curiosity has been engaged & I think I'll go read it next.

I haven't read book #1 and I found my self a little lost with this one even though it's supposed to be a standalone, there was quite e few characters from the previous novel and this one seemed to follow on from it. I found my attention wondering a little, which didn't help, as characters I should have known join in the story to solve mysteries and cause havoc. A great story line concept, I'll give this novel another shot after I've read book #1 .

Beach fare. Smart, hardworking and unknowingly gorgeous young woman meets and falls for a rich hunk, but fights it every step of the way. Add rich friends plus a stalker. Formulaic, junk food for the eyes but enjoyable in just the same guilty way.

Murphy's Law was my favorite of the Law Duology. I laughed with the characters and found them quarky and entertaining. The book discusses Ashley and Quinton. Ashley has had a rough life, but isn't as jaded as you would think. Quinton has had a wealthy life, but isn't egotistical. When these characters come together you see how well they fit. Wonderful book.
