About this audiobook
Now framed for murders he hasn't committed, and surrounded by new friends who might be turncoats, Nick is learning fast how his father went down in flames.
The heat in New Orleans is rising fast, and Nick's threat-level has gone into a whole new level of intensity. He's learning fast that when War and Death decide to battle, they don't take prisoners. The don't negotiate. And they're both immune to his biting sarcasm and Cajun charm. To win this, he will have to embrace a new set of powers, but one wrong step, and he will belong to the side of Darkness, forever.
Contains mature themes.

In the final (short) book Nick finds himself framed for murders he didn't commit and things are not what they seem to be.
That's as much of a description I can give for this book without spoilers, and the blurb makes it sound more exciting than it really is. It's as if the author was pressured to finish the book, and couldn't think of how to do it, so she just scrambled a few ideas, that were solved very easily and quickly, added highlights from the other books, gave summaries about who was who and how they were connected to Nick, cobbled it all together and called it a story.
There really wasn't any action, let alone a story. It was so scattered and brushed over. But maybe, for some reason, a few chapters were left out of the audio version, because that's how much sense this book made. So much story, details, and love for the characters were left out!
A very, VERY disappointing ending to a series that started off absolutely wonderful!
2 Stars - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Boooo boooo, okay I get the whole trying to find a way to end a 7 book series but the ending is really really lame I mean I see how there's no other choice but come on that ending just bites.
