- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5When Elliott Patterson disappears with $50,000 of Brunswick College's money, John Putnam Thatcher is called in to help find answers to a senseless puzzle. I think this is one of the weaker entries in the series, but it's an effective mystery and you probably won't guess who the murderer is.

Then one of the contentious leaders of the company is drowned in a motel swimming pool, and Thatcher investigates.

A cocoa buyer is murdered during a business convention. The investigation gives you a good look into the chocolate business, futures trading, and public television, all with a little tongue in cheek.
