This is a most delightful story about a little mouse moving house . The mouse , Araminta is a very well developed and rounded character from the very beginning of the book and one can clearly picture her in her warm little kitchen and sewing room . The scene is set very effectively and with clever creation of atmosphere through the use of most appropriate and emotive vocabulary . it is a most charming story and beautifully narrated . It’s great strength is it’s immediacy - one can really feel the warmth of the kitchen and picture the cherry red range . Children of all ages will love it .

This book is a delight to listen to. The audio narrator is incredibly clear with a delightful voice, and very expressive. The narrative technique is hugely descriptive, and will be educational for every young child who hears it.

My job of reviewing Araminta Thistledown Moves House would be almost impossible without giving certain aspects away, though. All I can say is that the storyline is engaging, the character is adorable, the illustrations in the book are not only in an artistic sense beautiful they make you want to be part of the storyline and jumps straight into it and go with Araminta all the way up and down those acquainted stones streets enjoying every moment with her. So if you don't want to know more – for fear of spoiling it – other than that it's a well-written- beautifully illustrate and engaging - then stop HERE. The rest of you, come with me... x
