About this audiobook

NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • Jane Hawk’s one-woman war comes to an explosive climax as the rogue FBI agent gambles everything against a terrifying conspiracy, for vengeance, for justice, and for humanity’s freedom—from the author of The Silent Corner.

“Jane Hawk is arguably the best character Koontz has created. . . . Simply put, wow.”—Associated Press

A visionary young filmmaker hunted for sport across a vast Colorado ranch by the celebrated billionaire at the heart of a monstrous cabal . . .

A brilliant computer hacker slipping through top-secret databases a whisper ahead of security trackers, gathering the facts to fight the all-powerful perpetrators of mass murder . . .

A pair of brutal operators, methodically shadowing their targets with every cutting-edge tool in the arsenal of today’s surveillance state . . .

A sequence of quiet heroes—everyday citizens—stepping up, stepping forward, intent on countering the advancing darkness . . .

A Vegas mob boss teamed with a homicidal sociopath, circling a beloved boy and his protectors, aiming to secure him as leverage against his fugitive mother . . .

And that fugitive mother herself, ex-agent Jane Hawk, closing in on the malevolent architects of ruin she has stalked as they stalk her, prepared to sacrifice herself to finally bring them down.

These are the people and circumstances of The Night Window, the thrilling novel in Dean Koontz’s acclaimed Jane Hawk series. I suppose to some it would be captivating, it wasn't for me. Though the plot to the story has a possibility of becoming reality in the future with all of the scientific research with nano technology going on. No doubt to control populations. Interesting book and plot also as I said a future possibility. Flash Gordon used to be just an imagination, now space flight is a reality! I'd say worth the time but this one wasn't for me.

As usual Koontz comes up with an ending that surprises and seems like the only possible ending. I always enjoy his books, and this series does not disappoint.

This series was my first experience with Dean Koontz and I can see why he is popular. I was engaged in the characters, happy when they were happy and sad when they were sad. I'm glad the series ended but sad to say goodbye to jane Hawk and her crew.

Thoroughly enjoyed the Jane Hawk book series. Dean once again was intriguing. The narrator was awesome. Thank you to both for hours of entertainment.

What a story! Well written, well read and well accepted. This story, although fictitious, is very much believable and close to being possible. The fact still remains that heads of government and people in power, could be secretly scheming and working on similar actions in real life. Thank you Mr. Koontz for another awesome book.

I have really enjoyed the Jane Hawk series, listening to all of the series audiobooks as I commute. The recording of The Night Window through Scribd skipped quite a bit through several chapters - so I think I missed some pertinent information. I felt like the Forbidden Door (#4 in the series) was a little dragged out - so I would have thought about combining #4 and #5 in the series. I did see that there is a #6 titled Devoted (2019), which I hope has the audiobook coming out. Otherwise, it will be a while before I get to it.

Great conclusion to a somewhat believable premise. It does make you wonder if something like this is not happening now.

Brilliant finish to this series! I wasn't sure how the author was gonna spin it, but he did it well. I feel like after listening to these books, I understand the twisted thinking of some people that I have never been able to fathom.

The Night Window is the final volume in the Jane Hawk series from Dean Koontz and it concluded the series in a spectacular manner. Most readers are familiar with Koontz and already know whether they like his work, so I won't go into much about that aspect. The Jane Hawk series has been a good one but a little, to me, uneven. Some were more compelling and some less so. That said, as a series, they all served to advance the overall story arc so I can live with the ups and downs. Mainly because the downs were not that far down. So many series just end (often because each installment is entirely self-contained with only a minor thread or two linking them beyond just having the same protagonist) or wrap up the unifying thread in a humdrum manner. I think this series is best thought of as one story serialized over a handful of installments, so the final ending is especially powerful.I think these can be read individually but I think readers will get more out of them if they are read from book 1 through this one. But either way, I highly recommend this book to anyone who even remotely likes Koontz' writing.Reviewed from a copy made available through Goodreads First Reads.

Very readable but pretty far fetched and contrived. Very short paras but eventually worked well and hard to put down. Ending a little too nice!

"The Night Window" provides a very satisfying conclusion to Dean Koontz's riveting Jane Hawk series. In this 5th and final installment, Jane is, of course, on the run from the Arcadians, who are relentless in their pursuit of her. Koontz ratchets up the tension in this book, as the Arcadians close in on Jane from multiple directions. From chapter to chapter the reader sees what is happening in various parts of the Arcadian world, aware of that which Jane is not -- that the Arcadians are much closer to finding her than she ever could have imagined. It is nail-biting suspense, as sometimes the Arcadians miss Jane by mere minutes.I was wondering how Koontz was going to resolve the story line. Each book in the series flowed into the next, providing more revelations with each subsequent novel, but no hint of how the seemingly hopeless Arcadian situation would resolve itself. I loved what Koontz did in "The Night Window" to end this series. It was a perfect ending -- not too pat, extremely satisfying, a fist-pumping "yes" reaction from me.Thank you, Dean Koontz, for a highly entertaining series. I look forward to seeing what you come up with next.

4.5 Stars for The Night Window by Dean KoontzYou should know before you even open the cover --this is it! The finale is only four-hundred-pages away. Be prepared to stay until the end before you begin. While the author has written short, crisp chapters that would allow a reader a place to pause, you will not want to do that. You've come too far and it is way too intense for a pause.Dean Koontz introduced readers to Jane Hawk in the explosive, mind-bending first book, The Silent Corner. Since then he has ratcheted-up the psychological warfare, warped reality, and turned thousands of citizens into nano-manipulated robots. Jane was once a highly respected agent, but that seems like a lifetime ago. She's been America's Most Wanted fugitive for so long it is hard to remember what it was like not to be in hiding. She has assembled a rag-tag army of everyday citizens that have two things in common. They truly believe in Jane and they would give their lives for her. You can't buy or manipulate that kind-of loyalty. Jane plays a deadly game of cat and mouse as she whinds her way to the "impregnable center of power." Yes, there's enough background information to read this book without being totally lost. However, to truly enjoy all the nuances, and to feel a connection with Jane, you really need to read the other books first. This is a short series, only five books. I strongly recommend reading them all. If you like suspense/thrillers you will not want to miss the Jane Hawk series. Dean Koontz created a strong, independent, ferociously loving mother that we could both relate too and cheer for. Now here we are in book five. The ending has been written. All we have to do is read fast enough to get to it. But like all book-lovers, once finished we are ready for the next adventure. I am anxious to read Dean Koontz's next novel.Happy Reading,RJI really hope Koontz brings Jane back in another book.

It makes sense to add new characters to keep the story of Jane Hawk and her fight against the Techno Arcadians who have developed a nano technology that can control the minds of individuals and make them subservient. Jane’s husband was killed in the first novel of this series and in this final one, it all comes to a head. I have enjoyed the previous four and this one also. There are some subplots going on which made me not want to put the book down to see how it all plays out. Enjoyable and intense, and hate to see this series end. But all good things must come to an end.

Once again, Dean R. Koontz has provided an excellent and thought-provoking thriller. I have read most of his books, and Jane Hawk is my favorite of his characters...up there with Odd Thomas. If you have not started the series, put aside some time so you can read all four without too much time in between. These are filled with nano technology that is made frightenly plausible by the author. References to current events make the possibilities shockingly realistic. Mr. Koontz also does lovely work with imagery. I highly recommend these books. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the advanced copy of the book. #NightWindow #DeanKoontz

Review of Advance Reader’s Copy In a story begun when Jane Hawk’s beloved husband, Nick, declared, “I very much need to be dead,” and committed suicide, Jane continues her struggle to stay one step ahead of those who would silence her forever. The arrogance of the Techno Arcadians is all-consuming; aided by the mindless obedience of the many people they’ve “adjusted,” their malevolent plan seems destined to succeed. Still vilified and on the run, the rogue FBI agent has managed to keep her son, Travis, safely hidden and has obtained proof of the subversive evil perpetrated by the Arcadians in the name of their own twisted vision. But, after so much struggle, if Jane wants a hope-filled future for her son, and for future generations, she must now take a final step that could cost her everything. The fifth and final book in the Jane Hawk series offers sufficient backstory for readers new to the series; a strong sense of place anchors the narrative. Alternating between Jane’s efforts to defeat the insidious machinations of the power-hungry and a tense confrontation between a film director and the billionaire who stands at the helm of the Techno Arcadian conspiracy, readers will find the palpable tension building as the story unfolds. Believable characters, a frighteningly-portentous scenario, an intricately-woven plot, and a riveting cat-and-mouse game all combine to offer readers a pulse-pounding tale of intrigue, vengeance, and unrelenting suspense. Unexpected reveals ratchet up the tension, giving readers an intense, can’t-put-it-down tale that will leave them breathless.
