About this audiobook

Love may be blind, but obsession’s a real killer.

Nora Holliday is not that kind of woman. Not the kind who has an illicit affair with a married man. But Josh Landon is everything Nora’s alcoholic husband isn’t. And now she and Josh are so infatuated, they can’t stay away from one another.

Abby Landon, Josh’s daughter, is home from college nursing a broken heart. She’s seeking solace, not more scandal, so when she catches her dad kissing Nora, she vows to take the homewrecker down.

And as for Abby’s mother and Josh’s wife, Gwen? To anyone on the outside looking in, the mother of two appears to be living the ideal suburban life.

Until she winds up dead.

The serene seaside town of Shoreham has always been the perfect place to raise a family—not somewhere housewives are brutally murdered. So who killed Gwen Landon, and how many twisted secrets will be exposed as the vindictive plot comes undone?

I really liked the book, but the NARRATOR!!! I don't know why she felt the need to make all of the characters sound as if they were suffering from strep throat, or she was being choked while reading this book. Her character voices were pretty off-putting.

Characters were completely unbelievable. Either they were completely moral, or completely irredeemable. Yawn.

It was ok. But to slow going, and not a lot happening.

This book gives a well thought out scenario of how marriage infidelity affects everyone. It thoroughly covers every family member’s view of the problem. The only thing I didn’t like is that the author seemed to go easy on the cheaters. They each were given a spouse who was incredibly flawed in character which seemed to give them justification for the cheating. I didn’t think that part was necessary. I was surprised at the ending Which makes a great murder mystery.

I was hoping this was going to be more jumping between present time and flashbacks so you can see the escalation of the relationship and the crime. I was a little dissatisfied but it wasn’t a bad book. Just not what I was looking for.

The characters were well developed and Gwen was scary. I liked how everything progressed slowly to a climax and look forward to the second book- if there is one.

I like the book, the one of the main characters was so incredibly wishy-washy and weak, I lost patience with that character. Regardless, I still like the book!

It was super entertaining from the beginning. Definitely had me captivated. The end was a great twist and the very end was kinda meh. Is still recommend it.

At first I thought this would be a modern-day Peyton Place, kind of gossipy and entertaining. But the author gave the cheating spouses reprehensible partners so that..what? The reader would give them a pass? Make them likable while they let their kids suffer while they got their well-deserved fling? I couldn’t listen to sage parental advice from two imbeciles who married violent partners, stayed with them for “the kids’ sake,” then threw gas on the fire. Figured the drunk did it and quit listening.

Well written, kept my attention throughout. Narrator did a good job, although two narrators-one male & one female would've been better.

This wasn’t as good as her first two books, but I definitely was captivated! I couldn’t put it down! It is definitely worth a read.

I enjoyed this book but the daughter Abby was getting on my nerves wanting revenge on her father mistress I’m like girl sit down and go back to school and I feel like Nora the mistress didn’t have anything to do with what happened to her mother. But overall good listen
