About this audiobook
Trouble is haunting Cassidy Blake....
Even more than usual.
She (plus her ghost best friend, Jacob) is in Paris, where Cass’s parents are filming their show about the world’s most haunted cities. Sure, it’s fun eating croissants and seeing the Eiffel Tower, but there’s true ghostly danger lurking beneath Paris, in the creepy underground Catacombs.
When Cass awakens a frighteningly strong spirit, she must rely on her still-developing skills as a ghost hunter — and turn to friends both old and new to help her unravel a mystery. But time is running out, and the spirit is only growing stronger.
And if Cass fails, the force she’s unleashed could haunt the city forever.
Number-one New York Times best-selling author Victoria Schwab returns to the spooky and heart-pounding world of City of Ghosts, delivering thrilling new adventures and an unforgettable spin on friendship. (Because sometimes, even psychic ghost best friends have secrets....)

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5A fun listen if you like a little mystery, a little humor and learning a little about Parisian culture.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This was so good , following a trickster and end oh my god it was definitely cliff hanger. I want to know more about Jacob and can't wait for third book :)
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I like the last one better. This one seem to have no plot twist at all. It’s so random.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5This is the second book of the series and now that the characters were established in the first book we now get to know them a lot better, their sense of humor, which for one had some sarcastic and funny remarks, too bad they seem like a whiny kid, but they do have a reason.
As for Cassidy, the MC, we get to see her power grow, along with her learning that while she could do good with her power, there are also bad things that can happen with it, and some of those bad things are drawn to her gift.
It was a really good story, a quick read, very suitable for readers around 12, but younger kids could enjoy it also.
I listened to the audiobook through Scribd and the narrator was really good, though she did have the tendency to add extra 'umf' to the end of her sentences which got a little irritating, but what I felt was wrong was as she read the MC, she would give a heavy and perfect sounding accent to the French words when it was acknowledged that the MC did not speak French. The characters who were French only should've been given the accent.
3 stars - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Frankly, the first book was a bit better, but it's still amazing middlegrade, almost on the level of Percy Jackson which is my favorite ?
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Really like the book, can't wait for another adventure x
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/54 stars for the audiobook, 3 stars for the overall reading experience.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5A thrill from beginning to end with an excellent narrator!
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Fantastic read. Loved the foundation of history with a heaping serving of the paranormal. The Harry Potter references were weird. Could have held up perfectly fine without them. But again, great story otherwise.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Excellent middle-age paranormal book! I can't wait to the next one!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I am interested in this type of work. Great storyline. Wonderful narration
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I love this book as muchmuch as the first one, can't wait for the next one!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I love both the books about Cassidy and her best friend Jacob.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Is it possible to love a sequel more than the 1st book... i couldn't stop... had to know... AND THAT FREAKING ENDING .... was gonna look for the 3rd book only to realize that this was only released few fays ago and that the sequel will not happen for at least a year or 2 T.T
so in the mean time am gonna cry and toss and then dive into my never ending TBR to find a book that would possibly heal my broken heart T.T - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Wonderfully written, spooky, and cute story!! Love Cassidy and of course Jacob!!
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5“You are my best friend. In life. In death. And everything in between'
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Wow finished this in one sitting. Im so loving this trilogy. Perfect for spooky season
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5A continuation of City of Bones. Another good story of ghost hunting, this time in Paris. Cassidy learns more about her best friend Jacob the ghost.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I enjoy this even more!, the mystery, Jacob's secret, spooky vibes, make me root for the end.
and oh how I adore these two kids. /guilty pleasure I ship them so hard - Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5The girl who lives in Scotland has a Queen's English accent. Not sure if this was explained somewhere in the book but surely she should have a Scottish accent? Nitpicking, but come on America.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5I was hoping the second book in this series would be better than the first one, "City of ghosts", but in my opinion, that didn't happen. I read the first book because I loved the premisse and I found some really great ideas, like the veil and a ghost friend. But then the story becomes basic, for me. Still I wanted to read this second book because the series had potential. But imo it doesn't create anything exciting.
Plus the thing I'd loved the most about the first book was Jacob. But in "tunnel of bones", Jacob is almost never there, with no real purpose, only used to contradict Cassidy just because and then she ignores him anyway. It feels like the friendship between them is gone. And Cass seems like she doesn't learn more as the story progress. However, I did enjoy the ending, how it wrapped up and I liked how the parents were present through out the story and their relationship with their daughter.
Also the covers are beautiful. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Perfect Halloween read! And very quick if you are late in your goodreads challenge!
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I liked that even more than the first one. Great story!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Loved this sequel even more than the first. A touch scarier, too, imo! So excited for the conclusion!
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I liked the part when the reader gets to know something about the life of Jacob, it was very interesting. I like he is getting stronger. Hope his friendship with Cassidy keeps evolving.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Love this series! It’s creepy and interesting and has a touch of mystery but is still so fun!
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Loved Jacob through this entire thing, but i do think he still has some "darkness" left in him that remains unsolved. Still, not 100% sold on the way this was written - i can't help but compare it to how she wrote the Monsters of Verity duology and how much more I like that one
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Cassidy Blake is off to Paris in this second installment of the Cassidy Blake series. What awaits her however is not just delightful ambience and pastries.
Picture catacombs and a young boy, a poltergeist. Cassidy must figure out how to help Thomas 'move on' with the help of Jacob, Laura and a new friend - family of said poltergeist to be exact.
I liked Tunnel of Bones but sadly not as much as the first book ☺️
It felt like the first book started off running. Whilst this one started a bit slow, and then continued to be a bit slow for me. It was close the end where I felt interested in what was happening again.
Also, I adore Jacob - and I sense something is going to happen to him in the last book ? TBD - Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5not a massive fan of this. but it's a cute quick listen
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5So original and wonderful! I plan to buy all three for my grandchildren!
