      OMG THIS IS PERFECT. This was so precious and so wholesome. I loved Rick's character development! I loved the writing style and I loved the way gender and sexuality was tackled in the story—with such care and love and understanding! That's how it should be. And I wish that's how it was in real life, too. But hey, this book is a hopeful story and change starts here. ? Everybody please go read this book! Read it to your kids, your parents, your friends, your students, everyone!

      This was an educational read (both for kids and adults) which I truly enjoyed. I loved the cameos and the idea of the Rainbow Spectrum club! The relationship between Rick and his grandfather was also precious! Who doesn't want a cosplaying grandpa? It was great that this book has ended in a very good and positive way but there were some issues that I wished were explored more. Overall, this was a great story about finding your identity especially at a very young age.

      I adore Alex Gino's books. I love that this book is a continuation of the story started in George, but from a different character's POV. In this one, we get to see Rick's discovery of himself. He also learns that sometimes you grow out of friendships. I loved the Rainbow Spectrum Club and the fact that the characters are getting to understand things about themselves. I can't wait to buy this one for my little cousin and discuss it with her.

      This is such a wholesome book and I hope the world gets to see more of these middle grade queer books. The world needs positive vibes and learning about sexual orientations at such an early age will mitigate bullying and promote acceptance. Please add this to your Pride reads. It's worth it!
