About this series
In the riveting conclusion to the acclaimed dystopian series, a boy and girl caught in the chaos of war face devastating choices that will decide the fate of a world.
As a world-ending war surges around them, Todd and Viola face monstrous decisions. The indigenous Spackle, thinking and acting as one, have mobilized to avenge their murdered people. Ruthless human leaders prepare to defend their factions at all costs, even as a convoy of new settlers approaches. And as the ceaseless Noise lays all thoughts bare, the projected will of the few threatens to overwhelm the desperate desire of the many. The consequences of each action, each word, are unspeakably vast: To follow a tyrant or a terrorist? To save the life of the one you love most, or thousands of strangers? To believe in redemption, or assume it is lost? Becoming adults amid the turmoil, Todd and Viola question all they have known, racing through horror and outrage toward a shocking finale.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Each book of this series got better and better…. yay!
I have to say the narrators were awesome and deserve SO much praise. There is a lot happening in this series and a lot of different characters coming and going. To consistently portray these characters so that the story is told without missing a beat of its voice (no pun intended) is a feat in itself.
As for the story, it is a roller coaster of who did what when and why the hell did they?! And it is very, very easy to forget how young Todd and Viola are. Their repeated instances of being manipulated can get frustrating……but again, keep their age in mind and that part of the story becomes more believable.
When a third narrator was introduced for this book, I suddenly imagined an elaborate Romeo & Juliet re-telling. I won’t give the ending away, but I will say I was happy to have found and complete this series. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5A brilliant end blazing with a renewed sense of humanity and the hope of peace.
