About this audiobook
There are three things you need to know about Janie Morris: 1) She is incapable of engaging in a conversation without volunteering TMTI (Too Much Trivial Information), especially when she is unnerved, 2) No one unnerves her more than Quinn Sullivan, and 3) She doesn't know how to knit.
After losing her boyfriend, apartment, and job in the same day, Janie Morris can't help wondering what new torment fate has in store.
To her utter mortification, Quinn Sullivan—aka Sir McHotpants—witnesses it all then keeps turning up like a pair of shoes you lust after but can't afford. The last thing she expects is for Quinn to make her an offer she can't refuse.

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5The story was cute, but it didn’t strike me as funny. I felt like the main character’s behavior was reminiscent of someone on the spectrum, rather than just “quirky”. Sometimes the level of lack of sense was over the top enough to roll my eyes and it was a bit hard to keep listening. Overall, decent story.

- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5This was painful to listen to. I kept waiting for it to get better but it never did. Had me rolling my eyes way too much! How many time does she get caught “chewing on her lip”. I couldn’t finish it.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This was the book that started my love for Penny Reid and I simply loved the book. I equal the humor to that in my favorite rom-com, Pride and Prejudice. Not equal in it's subtlety, but in it's intelligence. Now, don't go thinking this is a regency romp or on par with all things Jane Austen. It's just that the humor is well-earned. I thrive on the thinking man's humor and wit and, generally, cringe if the humor is in-my-face slapstick. So while reading Neanderthal Seeks Human and most of Penny Reid's books, I get to relish the fact that I was smart enough to understand why it's funny.
Please read this book, but do not start reading with the idea that it is simply another formulaic romance. You will never get that with a PR book. In fact, that is what makes them more enjoyable. Erase other romance books from your mind and clear the way for a different, but enjoyable experience.1 person found this helpful
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Janie was a little too clumsy and a lot too naive for me to really like her all that much. Quinn was not the right blend of alpha for me. Penny Reid is an excellent writer so the story was still great but just didn't love this couple.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Apart from too much huffing, lip licking, and lip chewing, a gross error in calculation by a supposed math wizard, and a reader who can't remotely do any English accent, this book is entertaining and funny.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This Narrator is great, cute story, some funny moments that had me laughing out loud.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I love Janey! I enjoy listening to her trivia rantings. And Quinn is deliciously broody.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Lovely storyline. Penny Reid is a genius. Janie and Quinn are proof that opposites attract
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Though this book led me to listen the whole series of 'Knitter in the city'. Other books of the series are way better than this one!
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5I really wanted to like this book, but the main female lead was too odd and I think she might be on the spectrum, reminds me of my nephew who does this. And it put me off the book because she does not understood social consepts well and does what she thinks people want off her very uncomfortable. Stopped listening to it by page 9...will check out the rest of the book.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Janie isn't the typical heroine. She's quirky, curvy and full of the most random facts but that's what makes her so enjoyable to read about. Her character is so different and complex in her own right that I never truly grew bored. Then throw in a hunky security guard hero and you had me hooked. Quinn is the complete opposite of Janie's goody-too-shoe personality. He has a past that he doesn't need to taint Janie's door with but first he needs to escort her out of the building she's being fired from.
Penny has written a super funny and unique romance which I laughed out loud numerous times. It was definitely a fade-to-black romance and I would have loved to have had more of the steamy scenes between Janie and Quinn but the story was still really enjoyable. - Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5I really tried to like this book. I really did. But the characters were totally unbelievable. The main character is described as beautiful and smart, but she doesn’t think she is beautiful and her intelligence is just random facts. I finally stopped in chapter 12 when the male love interest “absentmindedly licked whipped cream” off the her finger at their first dinner date. I enjoyed the other books I’ve listened to by this author, so I think I’ll give another one of those a try.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5I don’t know if it was just for me, but this audiobook sounds like it’s corrupted. There were moments of dead air where words were cut out and in chapter 6, the story completely jumps from one section to another without any explanation—the character was literally mid-sentence and suddenly it’s a whole other section of the book. I tried downloading the book to see if it was my connection, but nope, same issue.
I’ve never had this happen with a book on here before, but I’m not happy with this one. I was really excited to listen to this book!
