This story charts the traumatic fall of a good, but unchallenged man, Simon Leigh. His life has been a simple, charmed progression from schoolyard to workplace...until now. Suddenly everything disintegrates, and throws him into a world he never knew was there. He descends into life’s criminal underbelly, in a desperate attempt to find out who he really is, but more importantly, what is right and what is wrong.
I have steered this tale through the deepest of depressions as well as the side-splitting absurdities of life, which I hope makes it an entertaining read. However, for me, only a story that is not afraid to go wherever fate demands, resonates with real life.
For much of my life I have worked in the arts. Starting as an actor, then director, drama teacher, theatre writer, lyricist and drama therapist.
Although I have been writing prose from an early age, it is only in the last six years that I have become serious about improving my work, and hopefully selling it.
I joined the Verulam Writers' Circle (St. Albans, England) about six years ago and have learnt a lot about what works and what doesn't. Some of my best, and well received work has been a series of anecdotal essays; some of which I have published here at Smashwords and on Amazon as, Blue Skies Over Dark Days.
My writing has been inspired and influenced by novelists such as John Irving, Richard Bach and Kurt Vonnegut. I love the mixture of high comedy with hard hitting reality. Some, that have read my work, liken my style to Mark Haddon and Jonas Jonasson.
I now live in Spain where I have found great inspiration, which has both given me the energy to complete this novel, and to continue working on three other pieces. A Novel, Being, a novella, The Unforgiving Minute and a psychological thriller, If The Bed Falls In.view less
