- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5If you ever wanted to sit in a room and watch a movie with Roy Blount, Jr., here's your chance. "Hail, Hail, Euphoria" reads like a DVD commentary track, closely following along with the Marx Brothers' "Duck Soup." Blount's insights, opinions and quips about the movie do a great job of exploring what makes "Duck Soup" a masterpiece -- not just the best Marx Brothers movie, but one of the all-time great war films. I thought I knew a lot about the Marx Brothers, but I learned even more from Blount's commentary, and I came away admiring and appreciating director Leo McCarey's contributions to the film in a way that never occurred to me before. The best praise I can offer is that the minute I finished reading "Hail, Hail," I dug out my DVD copy of "Duck Soup" and had a wonderful screening with Blount's insights still fresh in my head.
