Deborah Calla has been working in the entertainment and publishing business for the past 10 years as a writer and a producer. She’s currently writing a MOW (movie of the week) for ABC Family. Deborah is a Huffington Post blogger and the founder of www.theloveprojectinc.com. A website dedicated to writings on love, hope, grief, coping and community. In 2009, her screenplay, co-written with Wendy Hammond, was produced under the title A Beautiful Life, starring Dana Delany, Debi Mazar, Bai Ling, and Jesse Garcia. As a producer, Deborah worked on: BEAT THE WORLD (2010 Brazil Producer) A BEAUTIFUL LIFE (2009 producer/co-writer) LOST ZWEIG (2002 co-producer) DREAM HOUSE (1997- producer). TV highlights are: Carnaval in Rio - 2004 (producer/director) Travel Channel documentary narrated by Anne Archer; Carnaval in Rio - 2003 a co-production with Terry Jastrow, a seven-time Emmy winner; Chicano Artists (writer/producer/director) for HBO Latino, programming for TNT Brasil, FOX Latin America, as well as many commercial campaigns. Deborah is also the producer of “Out of Silence: Readings from the Afghan Women’s Writing Project” produced at the Museum of Tolerance. She is also the chair of the Media Access Awards, an annual event celebrating people in the entertainment industry who have advanced the portrayal and employment of people with disabilities and is the Chair of the Diversity Workshop of the Producers Guild of America and a member of the Writers Guild of America. Deborah has had two books published by Putnam and one by Scholastic. All three books are on the subject of fitness.
