    Chapter One - Heritage

From the moment we’re born we sense a feeling of weakness. Weakness leads to fear, and fear makes us feel insecure thus forcing us to want to be closer to the person next to us, in most circumstances this person is our mother, the one who gave birth to us. We become dependent on her for our very life, sustenance, comfort, sleep, warmth, protection and joy. As children, we depend on those who are older than us, relying on their power to provide for our needs. We grow feeling secure beside our parents, or the person who takes care of us. Naturally, we get used to feeling safe standing by the powerful, we trust the stronger person because of the love and care we got by creating our own world of special security, with emotional and spiritual satisfaction.

Through our teenage years and later as young men and women, we gradually start to lose the feeling of being dependent on others, we become self-confident, and start to satisfy our needs on our own instead of expecting everything from our parents. After a certain age we understand that our parents are not capable of doing everything, and that they are not superior. We realize the difference to be their life experience, having had more years that they lived ahead of us. While this feeling grows, the time will come where our own judgment, understandings and decisions will change, where we will gradually become unable to learn anything new from our elders, even to the point of not accepting any ideas or discipline from them. And this is when we start searching for our own personal source of information to learn, to improve, to advance and to progress in order to satisfy our spiritual and physical needs.

It is very important to remember the following: No matter where we’re born, no matter which tribe, nation, or country we belong to, it’s very normal to be surrounded with certain traditions, superstitions, and religious beliefs. We shouldn’t be surprised if our parents live with them, or they are part of the beliefs surrounding them. Naturally, these beliefs will have influence on our lives. Even if we live our lives as non-believers, or infidels, or if we are non-religious consciously or not, we still belong to a tribe or a nation where we live with certain traditions, where certain rules guide our lives and the lives of the people around us.

When the majority of the people surrounding you live with feelings and beliefs of the nation, or the spiritual language that the local religions and the local rulers teach, most probably you will be influenced to have the same kind of feeling, thinking, and beliefs yourself. It’s easy to learn what you see, believe what you hear, and consequently that is how you live your life.

It’s good to ask yourself why there are so many different cultures in so many different countries, so many languages, traditions, superstitions, and so many different beliefs. Why, in a single country there are millions of idols worshipped as gods, where in other countries there are only a few kinds of idols worshipped as gods, while in other countries yet not even a single idol is worshipped as god, where people look to the sky above and say our god is in heaven and we must not make any image or idol of him, neither worship them.

What is the secret behind all of this? Why are there so many religions? Why are they divided into more than 30,000 religions¹, millions of gods, thousands of ways to believe, thousands of ways to worship? Why is there this strange need for mankind to be dependent on a VITAL FORCE outside of itself?

Why has mankind always looked for a faith, for a god to worship? The answer is very simple. Most of the time, they inherit all from their parents or culture. They inherit faith, worship, superstitions and traditions. Sometimes they adopted a different faith than their own culture, one that sounded more logical. And it has been this way for many generations and centuries. Not all people choose the same path, or the same faith. Some disagree with the faith that they inherit, and don’t wish to walk in the same path neither worship the same gods, nor keep the same traditions. This doesn’t automatically mean that they are rebellious. Some disagree as a result of gaining deep understanding and reasoning, having reached a different judgment and opinion to decide not to believe in a faith that they inherited through the religion or the culture that surrounds them. Obviously this will lead them to disagree with all worship they see. There are many who never believe in any faith and live a life of I don’t care, while others study regularly and won’t believe in any religion, in any worship, or in any god. They are not interested in respecting or understanding any faith. The reason could be extreme ignorance or extreme progress in knowledge that leads them to completely different directions or concepts.

Chapter Two - Our First God

In order to understand who created god, we must first understand who created religion and faith.

Before answering this question, we must all discover our first god. Remember, as we discussed earlier, when a child is born he is born with a feeling of being dependent. A child believes in his mother, believes in the person who takes care of him. He has the need for security, the need of protection. Indirectly, from the moment we are born we start to worship the person who takes care of us because we believe in the person who is protecting us, we believe in the power which saves us, which cherishes us, which shows love to us. If it was your mother who took care of you from the moment you were born, then she became your god. Naturally, you loved her, trusted her and worshiped her. If it was your father who took care of you, he became your god.

Whoever took care of you from the moment you were born, the one in whose hands you grew up, the one you trusted and believed, became your god.

You did not learn, but you felt that you are dependent, you felt the need of the person who takes care of you, and you felt the need to be close, to love, to trust, to believe and to worship that person.

In other words, you created your FIRST god from the moment you were born, by believing and trusting the person who expressed love to you, who cherished you.

Chapter Three - The Need for Gods of Nature

As we grow, the way we feel changes. It’s impossible to keep the same feeling while you grow, impossible to feel the same when you become 80 years old. Nevertheless, there is a deep-seated feeling in the character of human beings, and it is impossible to believe without it. Human beings know, and understand very well that they are dependent. Yes humans are dependent on thousands of different forces, and they admit to be unable to survive without those forces, unable to breathe, unable to live. They need all these forces to feel secure, to have satisfaction. And for the same reason they believe to have the need of the Mother Nature surrounding them, and for the earth on which they live. And for the same reason, for thousands of years, from the beginning of history the human being understood his needs, and acted in a very natural and logical way. Just like a child who trusts the person who cherishes him, loves and worships him, and looks at him as his god, and keeps his love and respect until his death. In the same way for thousands of years mankind has believed, trusted and benefited, felt protected, and understood that his life is dependent on the sun, moon, air, water, trees, fruits, animals and on everything that exists in this Nature. It’s very logical to cultivate trust on Mother Nature, on everything he saw, tasted and felt, since he believed in all that he loved, he worshiped Nature as his gods. It is very natural what mankind did, when he started making statues and idols as a symbol of his love and trust upon the forces surrounding him, which helped him keep his existence, which helped him live and be protected. If thousands of years ago, in the most ignorant years, mankind was able to choose and create gods from Nature, then where did all these religions originate from? Where did the idea of believing in a heavenly god come from?

Chapter Four - The Spiritual Needs of Mankind

To answer where did all religions originate from, and where did the idea of believing in a heavenly god come from, we must first understand the origin of all nations and the spiritual need of all mankind.

Remember the following, if a child worshiped his parents unconsciously, or worshiped the person who took care of him, and if a child grew up with the principles of his parents, with the laws of his culture, where he believed and trusted in all that he liked, and created his first god. All this helped the child to cope with being dependent, which helped him not to live in fear, not to be insecure, and to feel protected. A child, with his limited understanding was able to satisfy his spiritual and physical needs. Since he was able to create a god for himself, why not make a few more gods then.

The population on earth is growing very fast; there are approximately 1.8 billion people more living on earth only within the last 20 years². If we take a look at the Stone Age, where history proves the population was very little and when people were living in small groups of families in widely different areas. The very same people created tribes, and later spread out and created the beginnings of nations. While all this growth was happening around the world, something very important was happening to every single child who was growing up to become an adult, who started to feel the lack of protection, the need to trust the force which he always had around while he was a child, where more or less all his needs were met. The child who became an adult was not the only one; thousands of children around the world were growing as adults who had the same needs, they all created families, became tribes, and ultimately, nations. They all had the same needs, they all had the same weaknesses, they all felt insecure, and they were always dependent. The fear that was born within every single one of them, which will stay with them till death… and for the very same reason every single human being seeks the same security from the first moment of his birth, all they seek is the protection and satisfaction from the forces surrounding them. A child doesn't need to cry anymore to be nourished by his god, as it was the case with his caring mother, the one who was feeding him always with care. He is an adult, like the ones around him; he understands the need to hunt in person to fill up his stomach, as a satisfaction to the feeling of his hunger, and for all the rest of his needs. His childhood god was not there anymore, the force that was surrounding him, his parents is now weaker than him because of their elderly age. Even though they have limited energy and authority, in most cases they are still respected by their adult children. Many find it difficult to deny the feelings of love and deep respect for their elderly parents, who are still there, who were the first gods of every single human being.

Even when people grow older, they don't feel safe. They still have the need for some power from somewhere outside; they are not satisfied only with their daily needs. Let’s not forget they have that fear since birth, which make them feel insecure. They know very well how their life could end any moment, in an accident or natural disaster, or with any other cause. Any person who thinks not to have any fear
