About this ebook

All you will need to lose weight is this book and willpower!
I’m Bud Boelhouwer and in the last approximately three years I have lost just over 23 kg (3st 9lb “Imperial” or 50 pounds “US”). Of this I have lost 13 kg (2st “Imperial” or 28 pounds “US”) and my wife 9 kg (1st 6lb or 20 pound) in the last year.
During this last year I have fine-tuned the method I have used to lose the weight and am now sharing the “simply calorie counting” method in this short e-book.
Using the method you should safely be able to lose between 0.5 and 1 kg a week (between 1 and 2lb a week) depending on the effort you put into especially the exercise part of the method.
The method aims at providing a balanced approach between diet and exercise in order to lose weight. Unfortunately it is not a miracle cure and you will need to put in the required effort to succeed. That said the method is very straightforward and easy to follow and will work for anyone!

Simply Calorie Counting - Bud Boelhouwer

    Introduction

It was towards the end of March 2012 that one evening I asked my wife the following question: How can it be that I’m not losing any more weight?

In the couple of years before this I had after reaching a, to me shocking, weight of around 103 kg (16 st 3 lb Imperial or 227 pounds US), come to plateau at a weight of 93 kg (14 st 9 lb or 205 pounds).

This 10 kg (1 st 8 lb or 22 pounds) weight loss was in itself not a bad achievement. However with my height at 179 cm (5 ft 10 in) this 93 kg still put me very clearly in the overweight category according to the body mass index (BMI). My BMI was 29.03 and as said overweight but at least I was no longer classed as obese!

Anyway back to my question to my wife on why I was not losing weight. The simple answer is, she said that you are consuming more calories than you burn. And that same evening I set out to create the ultimate Excel spread sheet with which I could put her theory to the test.

Not being one to shy away from a challenge, I also set myself the target that by my birthday in October 2012, I would weigh 80 kg (12 st 8 lb or 176 pounds). A weight which I’m very happy to have reached one day before my birthday! A weight which now no longer puts me in the overweight category! A weight which I have not been in my entire adult life! And most importantly a weight I have managed to maintain throughout writing this short book!

As part of this introduction I would like to clarify that I am not a qualified doctor, dietician, nutritionist nor gym or fitness instructor. I’m merely someone who, like many others, wanted to lose weight and want to share the method that worked for me
