Introduction
As computers get faster and faster, the way people invest and trade in the stock market is changing. Most individuals, retail investors, can now access the stock market very easily from their computers. Most online brokerages and/or trading platforms provide sophisticated analytical tools for their clients. Technical analysis, which used to be regarded by many as a bogus witchcraft, is now becoming mainstream.
On the other hand, as computers become more powerful, big firms that drive the markets are developing faster and more complex computer trading programs. These programs are making big trades with high frequency and they are changing the landscape of the stock market.
