About this ebook

God’s Poetry is a collection of poems inspired by those who have given unique gifts so that we may fully realize our divine connection to all.

To the heroes in our lives, known and unknown, who have been their brothers’ keepers. To the saints among us who have willingly sacrificed of self for the benefit of others. To the less recognized and rewarded players in the game of life who have contributed much while never enjoying the spotlight. To the Creator of all spirits who gave us the chance to play on the grandest stage of all. To the families and friends who have helped us traverse the rocky terrain of our lives’ landscapes. To those who have simply passed quickly through our lives and left an indelible impression upon us. To the ones who have gone before us to pave the way for the betterment of us all.

For the lessons we have learned and the teachers who have taught us, God’s Poetry is a small compilation representing huge contributions by all for all.

The Scribe Described This scribe did not intend to be, yet was somehow chosen. Destiny played its part, shifting me to we, from I to all. I have always had a great curiosity about God and had studied much on the subject, but my primary focus was my career. Learning about God took on a new twist when God inspired me to write the words heard. “Hearing” is not how the words actually come, for it is more of a “knowing.” When the mind is quieted, the emptiness is filled with inspired knowledge. I write as and when instructed, either with pen or keyboard. The vehicle does not matter, but the content is to be kept sacred. Always, I understand that I must keep the sanctity of the gift given. Regardless of my own judgments about the content, I understood that the content is not about or for me. The content is to be presented as received, for the benefit of those seeking to have their questions answered. I cannot profess to be specially qualified, except that I am able to simply bring the words received to print. My credentials really do not offer credence to the work, except that they are verifiable and do demonstrate the normality of my life. I do hold degrees in accounting and education and have thirty years business experience.

    Dedication

As the words of these poems flow onto the pages, I am reminded of how our lives are woven together most perfectly by bonds seen by others, but never felt.

From the same beginnings do come such varied experiences. The commonality we share but highlights the apparent differences between us.

I am because you are my sister and my friend.

    Acknowledgment

In gratitude I honor the gifts that I’ve been given in the form of these poems which have great meaning and sentiment. They both honor the wisdom and the persons who have shaped my life that I might share God’s Poetry.

    Introduction

    God’s Poetry

    Take the time

    To enjoy the rhyme

    Of God’s poetry

    A great novelty

    To help you learn

    And to discern

    The messages in each

    That He does teach

    Section 1 – Perfection

    God’s Perfection

    When at first two meet

    There is a gentle knowing

    That is often put aside

    That truth does hide inside

But with the passing of time

    The two will surely find

    That God does know best

    As time will always attest

    Perfection is a relative concept

As we all learn to accept

That if we had no expectations

    Others would have no imperfections

    Living with another so close

    Does often show

    How we can destroy

    And seek another story

For we judge based on our selves

    That which we would delve

    Into for fun and pride

    Without improving inside

We assume that we are perfect

    With nothing left to accept

We seek for someone to share

    Our perfection so seemingly rare

But are we to get from another

    The improvements to our character

    That only God perfectly placed

In our paths to be embraced

That we may both be transformed

Into that which is a platform

    For the revelation

    Of God’s perfection

So God sent you to me

For what we were to be

    Having learned and grown

    Was His perfection shown

    We walked together over miles

    And experienced various trials

    We melted into the direction

    Of God’s desired perfection

We learned to see the others

    As our spiritual brothers

    And to offer our gifts

That their lives may get a lift

    That our parts be done

    Together as one

    For the beauty of two

    Comes from what they do

    As a team they share

    Their duties and wares

    For the purpose of redeeming

    Themselves from their dreaming

    That others may know themselves

And learn to rise above self

To learn to see life from a new direction

    In demonstration of God’s perfection

    A Decade For Transition

    How long does it take

    For God to make

    A servant worthy to do

    What God tells him to

    Many seek and find

    In a very short time

    That dreams do come true

    As they had always knew

    But for others to develop

    Many experiences envelop

    The years going by

    As they learn to fly

    On the wings of eagles

    Are the trips of dreamers

    Who have chosen to live

    As God has given them
