I explain further within my eBook, so... What are you waiting for?

How do you do that?
This is the number one question I get at shows and galleries. This book will try to explain the process in plain English with a boat load of pictures to help the novice or experienced artist see some of my tricks
of the trade in creating a beautiful still-life painting.
I’ll try my best not to let any philosophical exposés become added, but beware, some of it usually wears off and I apologize ahead of time. Being a Classical Realist, I have weathered different art movements in this country that were far away from classical art.
In the realist world it is said that modern art takes no time or talent.
I cannot agree with this statement totally, because I have seen some work that simply amazed me, with both the technique in its creation and the results of the finished work. My hat is off to those that are successfully creating work in this arena and making a living at it.
Most art schools, colleges and universities today teach several styles of painting. Most however, lean toward the modern art genre. What I show in this book is not typically taught in art schools today. I will show you a style that follows a strict series of rules or steps. Go outside the set of rules, you may find good results, you may not.
What you must remember is your painting may look great to you now, throughout your lifetime. Step outside the rules, this may not be guaranteed. Modern artists as recent as the 1920s and 30s have seen their work crack, peel, fade and pop off the canvas because of unsafe practices used in the creation of their work.
Some of these works were less than 50 years of age. Following the classical realist way, will keep your painting looking its best not only throughout your lifetime, but also for generations in the future.
I like to view my work as a craft.
Crafts that are similar to a carpenter, a plumber, or even an electrician. With the proper skills, (which are learned), anyone can paint.
Let me repeat this, learning these skills does not require that you have some kind of inherited artistic talent, but rather, a drive to succeed at this craft. Where does talent fit in? Talent helps in that your confidence level to do this kind of work is already high. Talent is simply things you have quickly learned elsewhere that can be also used in the art realm. It usually means good eye to hand coordination, (necessary in accurate drawing and in brain surgery).
It could be a good eye for composition, (helpful in setting up the still-life, but also used by interior designers, and florists everywhere). Using steps that have been handed down, and some self taught, I will show you these same skills within this book.
Simply put, this eBook will teach you how to paint a classical still-life painting from start to finish!
Remember:
The common worker works with his/her hands.
The common craftsman works with his hands and his mind.
What do you call the person that works with his hands, his mind and his heart? An ARTIST!
