    Introduction

Welcome to the eBook ‘How to Plan your Honeymoon’.

First off if you have recently become engaged then I believe congratulations are in order for the both of you.

My name is Daniel Hardie, also engaged and in the process of finalising my own honeymoon, which I will discuss in the next chapter.

As a backpacker and seasoned traveller I’ve had first-hand experience when it comes to travel, getting there and around before eventually taking up a career as a travel agent.

This first-hand experience and insider knowledge as travel agent has given me a lot of lot knowledge, particularly when it comes to saving on travel and looking & booking travel.

I have since left the travel agency and began uses my experience and knowledge to write all kinds of travel and adventure eBooks just like this one as well as started up travel websites; Nothing But Adventure and Backpacker Europe.

This guide, ‘How to Plan your Honeymoon’ is designed to help you plan and design your own honeymoon plans from the reasons, history and traditions of a honeymoon right up to the destinations and popular activities.

By the end of this book you will have some great ideas for planning your honeymoon and hopefully you will get ideas for your planned destination.

Weddings are a joyous celebration where friends and family all get together to celebrate the union between the couple getting married.

While the day may be a joyous occasion I’m sure you realise by now that there is just so much to be done. There are bridal parties to organise, reception venue debates, what hair styles, what colours, a church or celebrant and venue for the ceremony, music, food, flowers, table pieces and on and on and on.

It seems like it never ends and all this for one day’s worth of celebrating. Thank god society invented the idea of a honeymoon. It’s a time to finally relax and unwind from the big event to distress from planning that event.

How do I know all of this?

I too am one of the recently engaged and to be honest deciding on our honeymoon has so far been the most exciting bit for me.

All the rest has been daunting and in some parts stressful, especially when choosing a venue.

Let me tell you a little about my story of how I proposed and what we’ve planned for our honeymoon.

    My Overseas Proposal

Before getting stuck into the bulk of this book I firstly want to share my story of how and where I proposed to my fiancée Rebecca and tell you a little bit about our plans for our own wedding and honeymoon.

When I had decided to propose to Rebecca I wanted to make it somewhere special. By this point however she already knew the proposal was coming because she had already picked out ring.

So by booking a flight from my home town Sydney, Australia to Vanuatu she knew that this would be the place.

If you are unfamiliar with Vanuatu, it is beautiful tropical destination that is made up by lots of islands. As a kid growing up I always saw it as a place of paradise.

I had been to Port Vila before, which is the capital of Vanuatu and Rebecca hadn’t travelled to many destinations overseas prior to this trip. She had only been to Hawaii with me and to New Zealand with a friend of hers.

Ok so now for the actual story about the proposal we booked the trip for 10 nights. I
