Carol is a Fully Certified CARE Instructor (FCCI), a Board Certified Raindrop Specialist (BCRS) and a LSH (Licensed Spiritual Healer) based in Nanaimo, BC. Her background includes twelve years’ experience in the healing arts industry. She is an internationally known speaker, and healing arts facilitator, teaching CARE Intensives throughout the United States and Canada. She co-teaches many of these seminars with her husband, Ben Howden. Carol also shares these healing techniques in private sessions. Carol is a supervising instructor, and enjoys mentoring anyone interested in becoming a Certified CARE instructor. Her favorite is coaching others who are interested in taking personal responsibility in every quadrant of their life. Carol co-authored an educational cook book, 'Ancient Wisdom in Modern Menu'.     My cooking career has expanded and grown from my beginning days of burnt offerings to present day simple gourmet meals. My cooking skills were the source of family entertainment for years.

    In my journey for health and wellness, I realized the importance of eating and cooking healthy. With patience and purpose, cooking has become a passion, source of fun and expression.

    This cookbook began its creation when people were sending order requests for my cookbook that hadn’t been thought of yet.

    Having dined many times at Carol’s house, she has been a natural kitchen partner, inspiration and a fountain of knowledge. Carol has brought much expertise, fun and joy to the creation of our first cookbook.

    My cooking methods have developed largely as a result of necessity. Having had major digestive challenges I was compelled to make my own recipes from fresh, whole foods using nothing that had been preserved. Eventually this resulted in a lifestyle and a way of cooking, eating and entertaining that triggered the appetites of those with similar interests.

    More and more I was asked for advice on how to convert recipes, taking recipes that used canned, packaged and processed ingredients to starting with the basics and ending up with a gourmet meal.

    I had nothing on paper and no written out recipes until Katrina came along and planted the idea of a cookbook making organic, holistic cooking available to family, friends and associates. It has been largely Katrina’s ideas and efforts that have resulted in this book.
