About this ebook

“Beautifully written, a kaleidoscope of finely drawn characters and an unfolding mystery that reveals the hope and horror in the human heart.” —Alan Brennert, author of Honolulu, Moloka‘i and Palisades Park

Who is Kelland?
Two young boys rescued from the Viet Nam War. A couple drifting apart over the suicide of their only son. A devoutly Catholic child with the voice of an angel who is troubled by visions both sacred and profane. What links these seemingly disconnected people, and who is the mysterious Kelland, so determined to lay bare their hidden agony?

Angel or demon? Sinner or saint? Kelland is an enigma, a puzzle and an almost imperceptible presence who will do whatever it takes to expose the dark secrets in their lives. Kelland is violence. Kelland is sorrow. Kelland is their only redemption.

Paul G Bens

Born in the Commonwealth of Kentucky, far too many years ago to be honest about, Paul G. Bens, Jr., has spent the majority of his adult life in the entertainment industry. His first foray into Hollywoodland was as a casting assistant on low budget feature films. He then graduated to Casting Associate and worked for three years on the NBC hit series "Night Court" as well as a dozen other short-lived series. As a film and television Casting Director he was responsible for the principal casting of yet even lower budget feature films, as well as the television series "Ned & Stacey," "Malcolm & Eddie," "Likely Suspects," and "Murder in Small Town X." Outside of casting, Bens has been many things: a film producer, a file clerk, an altar boy, a bartender, a boy scout and, for a second-and-a-half, an actor. As an author, Bens' short fiction has appeared in Cemetery Dance, The Egg Box, Outsider Ink, Scared Naked, HeavyGlow, Bleeding Quill, Twisted Tongue, Velvet Mafia: Dangerous Queer Fiction, Chick Flicks, and Dark Discoveries. His debut novel "Kelland" was recently named the winner of the third annual Black Quill Award for Best Small Press Chill.
