    I am in the final stages of metastatic colon cancer. I have just finished my 26th round of chemotherapy. In 2 weeks, I will have another scan to see which organ in my body Cancer has chosen to dance with next. It has been a very difficult time. My writing has helped me to deal with death as if it is some sort of supernatural being I need to fight and expel myself. I have to go deep within myself and find my own inner peace and magic. Writing makes me happy, perhaps it is my armor. Perhaps my story is meant to be shared. Words are Power. Words are strength. Words are my legacy. Words touch the heart, the soul and the spirit. I pray my words help in the fight with cancer. Is it possible words can heal?

      Secret Getaway

      It is a secret getaway

      which I saved for my mate.

      I beckon to him with my eyes

      Without a word,

      Hypnotized

      He knows I can no longer wait

      Skyclad, he joins nature’s basin with me

      I rub smooth warm stones and lavender oil into all of his tight muscles

      Under the moon in total isolation

      I turn him toward me

      I sit in his lap, facing him

      Tis time to call upon the firefly canopy

      to come down over us

      For total privacy

      We see each other,

      the fireflies,

      the stars

      and the moon

      We plan to keep it this way perhaps, until noon

      Sealed With A Rainbow

      I make a promise

      Sealed with a rainbow

      I will always love you

      It would hurt me

      To ever let you go

      You are the scent

      In spring's breeze

      Burning within

      Soft and sweet

      Like a kiss

      Animal instinct

      Taking wing

      Making love

      Hearts sing

      Wings of a dove

      Lovebirds

      Bluebirds

      Songbirds too

      Apart of me

      Apart of you

      Yarning A Spin

      A lifetime and more

      I've spent in search of you

      Funny thing is, I never knew

      I did not know you were the one

      So much like me, one of life's puns

      The mind thinks it knows what's best

      Often choosing to look the wrong way

      Sometimes never finding an end to this quest
