About this ebook

In this book, errors in some of the current theories in Physics are described and the Grand Unified Theory has been derived and presented. This book completes the quest for the holy grail of Physics, the Grand Unified Theory. The book also strives to peek into the mind of Einstein and to understand why he failed to discover this theory.

    Preface

The origin and nature of our universe has been and continues to be a question of great interest to every enquiring mind. While several theories exist, the Big Bang model is widely accepted as the best explanation for the creation of our universe. However, some of the observations of the behavior of matter in our universe are not yet fully explained.

In this book, some corrections to the Big Bang model, which result in a much better explanation of some of the observed behavior of matter and light in our universe, are presented. This book presents theoretical research in the models of the origin of universe and a new hypothesis that could significantly lead to a better understanding of the creation of our universe and the subsequent interactions between matter and energy in our universe. The hypothesis presented here is able to reveal that the action of gravity is indeed similar to the actions of the other three forces of nature. Finally, this book delves into Einstein’s mind and tries to establish why the great man failed to detect the Grand Unified Theory which has today been discovered by us humans, thanks largely to his own seminal work.

    Chapter 1 Introduction

The creation of our universe and the behavior of the forces of nature are some of the biggest mysteries ever to excite man, the most intelligent and curious creature on our planet. While religion and philosophy gave several sets of answers to these questions, they did not perfectly satisfy the rational mind. Thus inquisitive people created science in order to better understand the universe and its nature. While philosophy and religion owing to their dependence on dogma and unproven ideas and theories, failed to grip the rational mind, science increased its hold on people as it was able to give increasingly accurate answers to our queries. Indeed, as science expanded our knowledge, the importance of philosophy and religion even declined. While the way of religion has often been to expound one dogma and then ostracize, excommunicate, exile and utterly reject those who questioned it (banishing the questioners to various creatively descriptive hells), the way of philosophy has been to expound several dogma and then accept yet more ridiculous dogma propounded by an ever increasing number of dissenters. Thus as religion sought to curb our inquisitiveness and so limit our knowledge, philosophy sought to reduce inquisitiveness to a trivial game and knowledge to an ever increasing mass of inconsistent, contradictory and thoroughly useless chatter. The way of science, on the other hand, has always been to observe, theorize to explain those observations, test the theories and their predictions, reject theories that fail and seek better ones and to further build on the theories that do succeed in explaining observations and predicting nature accurately. Thus, science has always sought to encourage our curiosity and add to our knowledge. Science does not reject questioners nor does it accept all dissent unquestioningly. Instead, it listens to all dissent, seeks to test whether the dissent is meaningful and only then reject or accept the dissent.

Today, though, science stands at a crossroad where blatant disregard for dissent seeks to choke our curiosity and stifle the growth of knowledge. Professor Stephen Hawking has done signal work in making science accessible to curious people from very walk of life. His various books have been a window to the universe for all interested enough to want to peek into the heart and, perhaps as he himself would like to say, the mind of nature. In his most recent book, The Grand Design, he defines a good theory, and therefore good science, as one that does not contain many arbitrary and adjustable elements, explains all existing observations and makes detailed predictions that are verifiable. Yet, the standard model that physics expounds
