Overcoming stress, beating fatigue and using stress to your advantage

As teachers, you will recognise that stress can develop from many situations. Stress can cause you tension, anxiety and illness. If you are under stress it will also affect your work, your colleagues, your students and your family.

Signs that you could be under stress:

Lack of sleep or finding it hard to get to sleep.

    Loss of appetite.

Not being able to concentrate on things properly.

Making mistakes when or where you don’t normally make them.

Bursts of anger or uncharacteristic raising of your voice.

Excessive use of alcohol, tobacco or medicines.
