    Washington DC was a new experience and the older mother loved it. Single for the first time in her life, she basked in the freedom that her life offered. Grown children, wonderful healthy grandchildren, she was blessed and honored. A decent and solid Monday through Friday job, offered her a full paycheck which was more than she could say for many others she met.

    Her apartment in Dupont Circle was the hub for all the artsy creative people in the metropolis. A converted Victorian turned into several living spaces was where she rented. Calling them apartments was a stretch, it was a lovely place all the same.

    When she came for an interview for this job, a friend who had moved there a year before, invited the new comer to lunch. As they chatted, Irene told her that there was an apartment available down the hall from her and she should check it out.

    Wouldn't it be fun to live down the hall from each other? The neighbors just moved out and it is available, said her friend Irene, excited over the prospect.

    Upon entering the room, Ashwaq fell in love with the space. In one corner, a built in loft with a ladder to get to the bed was set up. All she had to do was provide the mattress and voila, a bed high up with ample space beneath it. It made the room that much bigger and spacious.
