    40 Days of Faith is a devotional for anyone who desires a closer relationship with Christ and an outpouring of His anointing. Each time a person spent forty days praying, fasting and seeking the Lord they came out of that time period spiritually stronger and anointed. The same can happen with you as you go through the forty individual days of reading and prayer along with one day of fasting each week that are laid out in this book. Each daily readings include a carefully selected scripture along with an explanation of that particular verse. Each week in the 40 Days of Faith has a particular theme to help the reader focus on specific area. The six themes are:

    Week 1 – Prayer
    Week 2 – Knowing God
    Week 3 – The Holy Spirit
    Week 4 – Salvation
    Week 5 – Intercession
    Week 6 – Holiness

    This is a structured program which requires daily discipline and faithfulness and will produce daily results. By the end of the forty day period, your faith will be greatly increased and you will experience a closer relationship with Christ. You will also see an increase in your effectiveness in prayer and knowledge of God’s Word. Prepare to walk with the Lord each day and have him walk with you.

    Benjamin L. Reynolds is an accomplished author and ordained minister. Well educated with a B.A. in Law and Society, a Master’s of Christian Studies, and a Certificate Diploma in Client Server programming, Mr. Reynolds is well equipped to help others through his faith, his writing, and his ministry. Prior to his serving as a Senior Pastor, Mr. Reynolds was a computer programmer, but he has always had a passion for Christian literature and helping others.       Preface

      After his death Jesus showed the apostles a lot of convincing evidence that he was alive. For 40 days he appeared to them and talked with them about the kingdom of God. - Acts 1:3

      The concept for this book was birthed in prayer during the month of April 2011. I had been praying about my sermon for an upcoming Pentecost Celebration conference in which I was going g to be preaching at the following May. I was studying Acts chapters one and two regarding the subject of Pentecost when the Spirit of the Lord began to deal with me to go in another direction. The Lord impressed upon me to not teach on the miraculous events that occurred on the day of Pentecost, but rather to teach on what the disciples before Pentecost. The Lord specifically showed me Acts 1:3 where he spent forty days teaching and instructing the disciples about the kingdom of God. From there, I then began to study the significance of other forty day periods in the bible such as Moses' forty days on Mount Sinai where he received the Ten Commandments. I examined the forty days that Joshua's spies spent searching the Promised Land of Canaan and Jesus' forty days of prayer and fasting in the wilderness. I eventually came to the conclusion that most every forty day period in which someone spent with God in the bible led them to a time of discovery of God's purpose and plan for their lives. Each time a person spent forty days praying, fasting and seeking the Lord they came out of that time period spiritually stronger and anointed.

      In May, I preached about this subject at that conference that I was scheduled to speak at and introduced the 40 days of Faith program to several churches, including my own. The results were phenomenal! During and after the forty day period, most people testified of miraculous events occurring, getting spiritually stronger and seeing Jesus Christ and the gospel in a brand new light. I knew then that this program had the potential to change the lives. I decided to formalize the program and put it into a book format. This book is for anyone wanting a deeper relationship with Christ, a better understanding of the gospel and a more anointed life. The benefit of this program is that it only requires minimum time and effort to see tremendous results. It require daily faithfulness and a desire to grow in Christ. If you can be faithful to the program, you will see results.

      The 40 Days of Faith program is designed to bring individuals, groups and churches closer to Jesus Christ and the will of God. It closely follows the example of the disciples as they talked with Jesus for forty days before the Day of Pentecost. This is a structured program which requires daily discipline and faithfulness that produces daily results. The overall objective at the end of the forty day period is to increase your faith and closeness with Christ. You will greatly enhance your effectiveness in prayer and your knowledge of God’s Word. Each day you will gain the necessary faith and confidence to be able to experience the same results that the disciples
