What Is Sustainable (Green) Living?
As per Wikipedia, Sustainable living is a lifestyle that attempts to reduce an individual's or society's use of the Earth's natural resources and personal resources.
With the rising cost of living and the increasingly unstable job market, more and more people are looking at living in a sustainable manner. Even something as simple as growing fruit and vegetables at home can take away some of the stress and worry of daily life because you know you have fresh food available.
As stress takes its toll on the workforce, as employers demand more for less so people are realizing that there is more to life. There is a big push to go back to your roots
amongst the workforce, with keeping chickens becoming very popular and lots of people wanting their own area of land where they can live and enjoy life.
Sustainable living is about being able to live in a manner where you do not take more than you give from the environment and where you are not spending all your money trying to survive. In an ideal situation you would be able to survive without any money but you do need to pay for property taxes, maintenance on equipment, produce you cannot grow yourself and so on.
This book has been written to teach you everything you need to know to get started with sustainable living, from growing vegetables to keeping livestock to preserving your food for use out of season.
It covers every aspect of living sustainably and will talk about generating your own power (think about how the cost of power has been increasing over the last few years), finding your own water source (again, the cost of water has been going up) and more.
Living sustainably is incredibly rewarding and well worth doing. You will need an area of land,
