- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Adam and Lance are two best friends who loves all things Disney. Every year, they participate in a Disney Scavenger hunt. This year, things are about to get out of hand when they discover Walt Disney’s secret will inside a hidden diary. They follow clues to find what Walt left behind but they cannot let anyone know their secret because they have stolen the diary from Disney property. Will they be able to find all the clues and discover Walt’s secret? This book is a detective novel, where the two friends must do their research and find out is hidden. Through this book, the readers will learn about the history behind Disneyland as well as Walt’s background. They may not be all true, but they are all based on actual history, interpreted in different ways. Remember, this is fiction and not everything is based on reality. The authors provide a detailed description of the park and the readers will feel as if they are the characters. They will be able to venture through Disneyland and be excited about finding the clues. As the characters travel around the country finding clues, the readers will be amazed at their Disney knowledge. This is a must read for Disney geeks who loves mystery and adventure. The readers will want more of Adam and Lance as they finish each chapter. They are irresistible.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Sort of a National Treasure story for Disney fans. This is a treasure hunt through Walt Disney's life. For fans of Walt Disney's films or Disneyland, this book's blending of fact and fiction should be an amusing, light read.I enjoyed the character of Adam (although I found his friend to be a bit annoying) and if I didn't quite understand why he had done what he did to make his girlfriend angry, I didn't mind that too much (his motives on that seemed a bit odd, but I guess all of us sometimes do things that don't make a lot of sense when we think about it later).I enjoyed this book on the whole.(Just to be clear, I was the editor/proofreader for the third book in this series, but this review is simply my honest opinion of the book--which I read after my job on the third book was done, as they wanted us not to be familiar with the earlier works so that we'd have a fresh eye when approaching the latest book).-KK
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Fun book that is a mystery for the most part set in Disneyland. It has a young man finding Walt's diary during a trivia race at Disneyland. The diary starts them on a treasure hunt of sorts. This leads them from CA to MO and even to the island of Tobago. Full of twists and turns, near the end of the book is a huge twist. Full of Disney trivia and fun facts about Disney and Disneyland. Another reviewer called it a National Treasure of Disney facts. I look forward to the other books in the series.
