    Chapter 1

    Emman sat on his horse and gaped at what stood before him. The water fall, the tree’s, the rock pool, everything that the gemstone had showed him the previous day, it was all there. Emman closed and opened his eyes once more just to make sure he wasn’t dreaming. It wasn’t a dream. If it was, he was also sharing it with Rackta, who had a wide grin on his face. That was if reptiles had the power to grin, or lips for that matter, Emman wondered. Whatever he was doing with his face, Emman found it off putting, and turned away.

    Not bad for a lousy player, Rackta hissed, I knew I’d find them. There were those that doubted, but I knew. I knew I could bring all the gemstones back together once more—dismount! Hearing Rackta call the order, Emman found himself manhandled once more. Pulled roughly from his saddle, he was made to walk alongside Rackta until they came to the edge of the rock pool.

    You spoke of a hidden cave behind that water fall, Rackta said pointing to the shadow in the water. Go and see if it’s true. Emman felt the player behind him give him a nudge towards the water’s edge. Instinctively he knew something wasn’t right and pushed backwards against it.

    Stop! Emman called.

    What?—you said it was inside the waterfall, now go and get it, Rackta commanded.

    But what if it’s booby trapped? Emman asked. I mean they wouldn’t just leave a gemstone lying there would they? I’d imagine whoever put it there wouldn’t want anyone to just walk up and find it. That’s what I’d do?" Emman watched as Rackta thought over what he’d said, and then nodded his head.
