About this ebook
"Sammy gets into Trouble" is the second in the Sammy Samango series of books. Written for children, the book tells of some of the adventures this little samango had during the five years he lived with his human family. Never kept in a cage and having the free run of the humans house as well as the Vervet Haven centre, with its very large indigenous trees, he became very smart, streetwise and naughty. He has been released back into the wild and now lives with a troop of samangos at Riverside Wildlife Centre in Tzaneen.

Having also lived in close contact with wild vervet monkeys since she was a child, once her own children had left home, the opening of a vervet rehabilitation centre, Vervet Haven seemed inevitable. The arrival of this baby Samango into her life, as her close friend Misty said would be an experience of a lifetime. Foreword
Sammy is a Samango monkey from South Africa, who lived with a human family for five years before returning to the wild. He now lives with a troop of Samangos in the wild. His special friend is Ziggy, who is a few years older than he is.
He came to live with his human family when he was only a day old. Because he was never caged and allowed to wander around the house and up and down the many 40 foot trees at the Vervet Haven Centre, reacting freely with both the humans and the wild life at the centre, he became very smart and streetwise. He could open every door, window, cupboard, fridge or microwave oven and he did on a regular basis.
He was always in trouble and as he grew up, he also started to explore further and further away. Pictures in the book are of Sammy and his mischievous behaviour.
These stories in no way endorse the keeping of monkeys as pets. They are wild animals and as such unpredictable and dangerous when they grow up. Sammy was raised to be released back into the wild when he was old enough.
