The Kingdom of Sunnymerrylandia
Once upon a time, in a faraway land, there was a sunny kingdom by the name of Sunnymerrylandia, where the sun shone brightly all year round and the sky was as blue as the sea. The people who lived in Sunnymerrylandia did not speak, they sang. They loved to dance and play musical instruments. The Kingdom of Sunnymerrylandia was quite small, and everyone knew each other by name. Even the names of the streets reflected happiness; for example, Laughter Street crossed Friendship Street, and Friendship Street opened out onto Celebration Square.
In Sunnymerrylandia, people believed that if you greeted someone with a smile, he would smile back, that if you helped someone, he would help you, and if you did a good deed, it would bring you happiness and good fortune. They believed that kindness conquers all. The people were extremely warm and polite, and the words please
and thank you
were heard very often in Sunnymerrylandia.
King Wolfgang, who was very old, ruled the kingdom and his daughter Princess Mary was a great help to him. When Mary was a young girl, her mother, Queen Susanna, had died of a serious illness.
