Simply put, wildflowers are flowers that grow without human cultivation. They can, however, be grown in gardens and, in places such as Hawaii, have been brought in by man to replace native flora or have escaped from cultivation to flourish in the wild. Be that as it may, wildflowers provide one of nature’s most beautiful displays. Charlene Tarbox has depicted them with accuracy of detail and inventiveness of composition to be of use to both naturalist and designer.
