Introduction
A Note about Him and Her
I have written this book in first person and refer to the deadbeat parent as a he
and an ex-husband simply because that was and is my experience. I am aware that you the reader may be a man (according to the U.S. Census Bureau in 2010 30.4% of custodial single fathers were awarded child support
) and your smart deadbeat parent is a woman. I am not a man hater and I mean no disrespect towards anyone. (In fact, I am happily remarried to a wonderful man.)
How This Book Can Help You
You personally can’t force him to pay child support any more that you could make him take out the trash when you were married or living together. However, there are a number of ways you can make his life very difficult and uncomfortable if he does not pay, thereby MOTIVATING HIM TO PAY YOU.
Raising a child is hard work. Financially supporting and raising a child is overwhelming. As most parents know, the average child support allowance ($5,960 per year) is not nearly enough to raise a child. Now factor in the cost and time it takes to fight your ex to get him to pay the child support he owes. For custodial parents, this is financially and emotionally devastating. You have to fight against your ex (your child’s parent) to force him to help support HIS OWN CHILD. It seems wrong and unfair. IT IS.
Custodial parents (and families) are busy and don’t have the time, money or resources to mount a legal battle. There are many Federal Laws and Services out there that can help you, but only if you know where to look and what to do. Lawyers and judges know what they are, but they won’t tell you about them. Why? Lawyers want to make money. The way they make money is by keeping your case churning endlessly through the System.
Judges can’t tell you or give you advise. They are supposed to be impartial.
You have to be proactive and take matters into your own hands. I’m here to show you how. The legal system is extremely flawed and in need of repair. In addition judges, clerks, courtrooms, jails and caseworkers are overloaded.
If your ex doesn’t pay child support, NOBODY CARES AND NOBODY IS GOING TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. It is up to you to find a way to make him pay. While every situation is unique, if a person is behind in his child support payments, there are a number of methods or means you can use to get him to pay if you know where to go and how to do it. I’m here to show you how to get the courts, police, state and federal governments to HELP YOU get what you ultimately want – GET PAID the easiest and fastest way!
I will explain in detail the pros and cons of each course of action, some of which will be harsh for your ex. I will give you the ins and outs of each approach and a quick how to get started
on your case.
Fighting your ex is not like any other legal battle. You are not in a war. You are not suing a bank. You have to co-parent and get along with your ex (and still be a happy, loving, nurturing, productive person) for the sake of your child. You just want your ex to pay his child support. However, when you are fighting with your ex to get him to pay child support, things (including you) can become nasty and bitter.
It is time to stop being mad and refocus on your life and happiness. You have a child in your arms and a new life to build. I’ll help you forget about your past and think about an exciting future.
There are smart ways to get your ex to pay, without having to spend a fortune on lawyers. This book will show you how to get him to pay as quickly as the system allows, effectively and with little (under a $100) or no cost to you and (just as important) help keep your sanity while you do it.
After you read this book, order Child Support Forms & Tips. It gives advice, tips and forms for motions, liens, judgments, mediation, family mediation and custody agreements. Learn what lawyers won’t tell you and
