PROLOGUE

*The End of the World Paradox*

In 1950 Enrico Fermi an Italian physicist, wondered why humans had not encountered extra-celestial civilizations given the age of the universe and its vast number of stars. Unless the earth was atypical, why were there no signs of other intelligent life? This is known as the Fermi paradox. One of the proposed reasons could be the probability of existential catastrophes…the possibilities that other worlds could have been annihilated before they were discovered.

The moral importance of extinction risk, is that our future existence would be based on finding different solar systems capable of supporting human life…before our sun expanded, making the earth inhabitable. If it were possible to colonize other planets, then mankind might be able to exist for a trillion years or more. Eschatology is the theology concerned with the final destiny of man…the concept of the end of the world, or the end of time. In most religious beliefs, this is the time of death, judgment, and heaven or hell.

Mysticism is metaphorically referred to as the end of ordinary reality and a reunion with the divine. In many religions it is taught as an existing future event…prophesized in sacred texts or folklore. It also encompasses the coming of the Messiah, and the end of days. Apocalyptical and eschatology…both religious and secular, predict a violent destruction of our world. It is the consumption or the perfection of God’s creation, and the end to physical life.

Astronomers predict that the sun will turn into a red giant in five billion years. This occurs when a star has exhausted its supply of hydrogen in its core and switched to thermonuclear fusion of hydrogen expending immense heat. The red sun will have a maximum radius beyond the earth’s current orbit. The sun’s expansion will not be the end of the universe, however it will be the end of our solar system. However life on earth will have ended long before the planets are consumed by the sun.

Some existential risks of destruction or paradoxes of our time here on earth, might be caused by man-made technologies. Other than nuclear fusion, ozone or atmospheric destructions, some scientists speculate that computers and robots would reach super intelligence, and man would be no longer needed to sustain life on earth.

Nanoscale technologies have been developed and are currently in use. The use of molecular manufacturing in computers, cell phones, medical devices and weapons of destruction have interfered with the natural structure of our exosphere, the upper layer of our atmosphere, where atoms and molecules escape into space and infinity.

When the disciples asked Jesus about the end of the world, they were not talking about the physical planet. He told them it was about the end of an age or an era. People in every generation have since have wondered of this prophecy. Christians, politicians, scientists, and people of all faiths have foreseen the potential destruction of our planet.

Others are not concerned about the world ending. They point to prophecies and predictions in the past, which never came about. All we know is…no one knows when or how the end of our world will be.

Whatever we surmise, Soaring Eagle proclaimed the truths in a Navajo proverb.

We are part of the whole, the Oneness, God, the Creator…the Great Intelligence of the universe. Through this intelligence, maybe man can amend for the detriment caused not only to our world, but those above, beneath, beyond…and within!

1. COGNITION

*Conscious mental thinking, understanding, learning and remembering.*

If we adhere to the perspective knowledge of science, spiritualism, and mysticism… we find that they all are encompassed and correlated, Dr.

Jonathan Andrews stated.

"There is a reason, perhaps a divine intervention for Monica Greene and Tucker Ferris being intercepted into the dimensional channel. What if it was the interim force that enabled us to find Dr.

Highland through all the dimensions and infinite time? Simon Ferris and Joseph Winslow were able to find their way back into to this world…although it was not of their time. Corbin Turner came to us from four hundred years in the future. Gregory, Sheila, and Soaring Eagle found a way to force the portal open at the exact time and place from which we were integrated, although I went through an aperture in the atmosphere with the rocket-sonde. We have to formulate an equation as to what we know, remember, and understand."

What about Monica, Derek interrupted. Why can’t we just force the portal open again? I’ll go through and bring her back. Let’s just do it! Jonathan looked at Dr. Brenda Highland for help. Chad Wilson spoke first.

"You’re not listening Marshall. We were not prepared for what happened the last time. We can’t go rushing back into the portal, even if Gregory and Joseph can force it open with their invocations. There is the equilibrium factor…the condition of system in which all compelling influences are balanced in contexts. The equilibrium power distribution is the waveguide for dimensional and structural changes that produce the exchange of power. In physics, the equilibrium distribution has to be in a steady state with equally ingoing and outgoing fluxes. This refers to a condition in which any two bodies or elements are selected for random exchange!"

Wait, Emma countered. "Dr. Highland and Dr.

Andrews came back through the portal…together. The force of equilibrium pulled Monica through. Why only the exchange for one…if two came through the channel together?"

Chad sighed and took a deep long breathe. He was clearly agitated, not knowing how to phrase his explanation. Ryder placed his hand on his friends shoulder and answered for him.

"The same thing happened when Uncle Simon and Joseph Winslow crashed into the ocean. The equilibrium force or power pulled my father into its vortex. I am not a physicist, but I have studied philosophy and paradoxes.

Zeno’s paradoxes are a set of philosophical problems referring the fact that space and time…are simply illusions. We’ve know that this is not the case. Dr. Andrews said that there was the interim force, an intervention of great intelligence or divine power which enabled him to find Dr. Highland. This force enabled them to find their way back into this world and to this time! I thought the same thing Derek. I thought of going into that room and waiting for the portal in the wall to open, so I could go through and find my father and Monica. Before I could carry out this plan, my sister Allison conveyed telepathically…that I was not to go into the portal…or I could be lost through the astral planes too! Dr. Andrews is right. I want to bring them both back, however Einstein’s theory of relativity is based on hypothesis, not empirical discovery. Empirical discovery is the understanding of characteristics of natural process. Separate events must show these characteristics, and then experiences should match the conclusions."

Wow…for not being a physicist, you sure sound like one, Mark Ayers allotted. Then again…you have a little touch of the paranormal phenomena in you also!

Yes he does, Chad replied. "I think we all do.

Soaring Eagle, I mean Joseph Waneka is right. We are all connected, all part of the great intellect of the universe and all that exists. Monica Greene is my friend. I want to help bring her and Tucker Ferris back through the portal but this isn’t our priority. Dr. Andrews said there is a reason that they were pulled into the vortex, and there is a reason we all have been subjected to these occurrences. Dr.

Highland has some insight on what we did to force these portals to open and we have to figure out how to close them… and keep them closed."

If we find a way to do this, then wouldn’t Monica and Tucker Ferris will remained trapped in some strange dimension or world for eternity, Derek asked. Are you willing to sacrifice your friends in order to appease the interim force when there is a chance we could save them first? Chad turned towards Derek, his face red and his temper flaring. Brenda stepped in between the two young men. Professor Breckenridge grasped Chad’s arm, forcing him to turn from the confrontation. Brenda nodded at Emma, and she and Mark led Derek to an empty chair to sit before any more angry words could be spoken. Brenda cleared her throat, gaining everyone’s attention.

"We all want to bring Monica and Tucker back, however I have some information to share. The vortex… one of the channels between worlds where the sentinel keeps guard…is disintegrating. The walls between realms are crumbling and it’s because of mankind, and something we initiated. The Sentinel said that it started centuries ago, but the walls were always able to repair and sustain the electromagnetically force until the last century. I think it started with the radioactive atomic explosions and then the nuclear age radiations. Think of what we have done to our own biosphere. We have thousands of nuclear reactors, cell phone towers, Internet, new fusion medical devices…all using electronic and magnetic waves. Our ozone layer is being depleted by free radical catalysts, quantities of man-made organohalogen compounds.

Nitrous oxide is the largest ozone depleting substance emitted through human activities." She paused to take a breath. Jonathan continued.

"Dr. Highland is correct. The atmospheric convection is the result of instability within the layers of our atmosphere. Convection is the collective movement of molecules with gases, liquids and particles which gives us weather patterns. It includes the movement of bulk by the diffusion and movement of individual particles. This occurs in atmospheres, oceans, and planetary mantles, and it provides a mechanism of transfer phenomena to the outermost interiors of our sun and stars. On astronomical scales, convection of gas and dust is thought to occur in the accretion disks of black holes. Radiation is omitting from our planet in almost solid gaseous waves of liquid and solid mass particles. This is what we’ve created more of in the last century. It is more than what our atmosphere and galaxy can repair!" Mark and Derek shook their heads in bewilderment. Professor Breckenridge tried to clarify Jonathan’s statements.

"In physics, radiation is the emission or transmission of energy in the form of waves or particles through space…or through a material medium. This includes electro-magnetic radiation such as radio-waves, visual light, and x-rays particle radiation such as neutron radiation and acoustics. Ultra-sound and seismic waves refer to the energy being radiated. The word radiation comes from the phenomena of waves radiating from a source. Because radiation expands as it passes through space, its energy is conserved in a vacuum…the intensity of all radiation from a source or point. Namely, that is the earth. The radiation coming from our planet is so high, that it can literally dislodge electrons from atoms, and create ions…breaking chemical and physical bonds within molecules. Molecules sustain the structure of everything that exists, physical, dimensional, and undetermined. We may have actually damaged the structure of the entire universe," he concluded.

For a moment no one spoke. Then Chad the pragmatic one of the group commented.

Okay…then how do we fix it?

The four of them waited in Bishop Stolinski’s office while he tried to contact the Arch Bishop of Rome. No one spoke. Elaina had repeated her advertence to Lucien, Sebastian, Orlon and just recently, Bishop Stolinski. The angel Sariel had shown her how the barriers were thinning, enabling the strange phenomena and occurrences that were happening throughout this world and others…physical, spiritual, and dimensional. Now she sat silently, waiting for the Bishop to relay the information to the Pope.

Orlon stood and paced around the small room. He wondered how the Holy Father would convey this facet to the entire world. He went over in his mind what Elaina had told the three of them in Lucien’s rectory. Sariel had taken her spiritual being…through the planes of existence.

"The angel Sariel lifted us through higher consciousness, into the channels between worlds. I saw many realms…many beings, physical, ethereal, and creatures there were no names for. Some were lost, thrust into worlds not of their own. They flocked around Sariel, and I saw that he was not just an angel…he was a source of light, warmth and tranquility. This wondrous light cast its warmth upon these creatures, and they seemed to understand, even though he did not speak. I felt the light enter my spirit, and everything at once became clear.

The walls between worlds became transparent, allowing the channels to open. I saw millions of stars, planets, and planes of existence into infinity. Suddenly I saw the blue oceans of the Earth. I was looking at the layers of the Earth’s atmosphere, and Sariel…once again in the form of an angel, conveyed the provocations of man. We have almost destroyed the barriers that separate our realm from billions of others. The technologies of man, both destructive and beneficial, were responsible for the transition of our physical world into that of the fifth dimension.

The fourth dimension is time…the fifth dimension is velocity…infinity. If the walls between worlds crumble, our existence and those of other worlds and realms, will be lost in the eternal and infinite universe. Our souls will wander eternally with no connection to God… or to anyone or anything else!"

Sebastian thought of being separated from God throughout eternity. It would be Hell! For a moment, his faith wavered. Why would God allow this to happen to His children? Then he remembered. God had sent His angel, and He had called upon the girl Elaina to convey His word. He was giving mankind a chance to emplace his destiny with the natural and divine forces of the universe.

Sebastian looked at Elaina who was speaking softly to Lucien. She looked up and smiled with the light emanating from her eyes…her soul, her being. His heart and spirit filled with love and faith in God and His divine plan.

Lucien stood as Bishop Stolinski entered the room. Elaina nodded and smiled. She knew that the nations would be summoned by his Holiness…in the reverent prayer and hope that what mankind had wrought…could be absolved!

It turned and watched as Annie Tahoma made her way to the large rock by the river. It scurried around the natural seat as she sat down. It then jumped onto it and gazed at Annie with its large set apart yellow eyes. She glanced at the tiny creature. It was her animal spirit guide, the desert horned lizard. Annie watched the last of the day’s light fade as the heat diminished, and a breeze blew little dust devils around the dry ground. Suddenly the breeze intensified, signaling the opening of the portal that had appeared numerous times before.

Annie waited calmly to see who…or what would come from the portal this time. The light from the sky faded and for a moment the stars and moon were obscured by the dimensional vortex. Before Annie could speak, the voice of Jimmy Creekstone, one of the two young men who had disappeared several months earlier…called out to her.

"Annie, time grows short. The walls are crumbling, the barriers are disintegrating. Has man constituted to amend this contrition?"

Soaring Eagle confers with the scientists, spiritualists, and mystics at the Association. I do not know what more I can do besides wait for the Hatalli’s magic, she replied.

"Are you not a child of the earth? A child of the Great Spirit…a soothsayer and a healer," Jimmy asked. Annie nodded. She saw the light behind Jimmy glow brightly.

She asked what more she could do. Before the portal closed completely, Jimmy said.

"Heal the spirit and the Earth Annie Tahoma. Heal the universe and all it comprises!"

Allison Ferris was dreaming. She was soaring through dimensions, and searching through astral planes. Finally she came upon her father Tucker in a strange place where odd fish-like men swam in the sea. Tucker was in some sort of city under the water. He was able to breathe and converse with the strange creatures that surrounded him.

At first he seemed terrified, backing himself into a large cone shaped shell as many of them swam close to look at him and mutter in their strange guttural sounding voices about the human man they had captured. He had fallen from the sky, without any vessel sailing or flying above their city. They had brought him here without killing him, mainly out of curiosity.

Allison wanted to tell him not to be afraid. She thought…no she knew! The leader of these creatures approached Tucker. It wore some sort of large apparatus over its head. It studied her father for a moment and then spoke to him in broken English.

"It was…foretold. You…come to change the world. You…come to deliver us…from this horrible existence. You come to change the future…by you, you change the past!"

Tucker looked disconcerted. How was he to change this world when he didn’t know where he was…or when he was? How could he change the past when he was caught in this existence? Anxiety creased his brow as he shook his head in bewilderment. Suddenly he heard Allison’s voice in his head.

"Daddy everything will be alright. I know where you are, and we will find a way to bring you back. I feel you are supposed to be here…to relay information about these people and their lives. This is our chance to save our world, others, and the whole of existence!"

2. EXTRATERRITORIAL

*Existing or taking place outside the normal limits or jurisdiction*

The Milky Way Galaxy is about 100,000 light-years across. It is a barred spiral galaxy surrounded by four spiral arms wrapped around it. One of the smaller arms or spurs known as the Orion arm, contains our sun and solar system. Orion is located between two larger arms…Perseus and Sagittarius. Our galaxy is constantly rotating, and the solar system rotates within it at around 515,000 miles per hour. It would still take about 230 million years for our solar system to travel around the Milky Way.

The center arm is filled with gases and dust. This is where new stars are formed. In the precise center of this arm is an enormous black hole…billions of times more massive than our sun. Scientists theorize that this black hole has grown immensely, due to the amount of gas and dust it has absorbed. Although black holes cannot be directly viewed, scientists can determine their gravitational effects as they change and distort the paths of material around it.

Stars and gases in a wide range of the galactic center, are orbiting 220 kilometers per second. This rotation speed contradicts the laws of Keplerian dynamics, which are the laws of planetary motion. This suggests that the mass of the Milky Way does not emit or absorb electromagnetic radiation. The mass has been given the name, dark matter…a hypothetical kind of matter that accounts for most of the matter in the universe. In the 1960’s in was theorized that the universe was expanding. The question was whether it might have enough energy density to stop its expansion and collapse… or keep on expanding.
