    Man That Was Good

I woke up in a dazed confusion, I didn’t get drunk last night but somehow I don’t remember how I got here. I turned to see a beautiful, sleeping man beside me. I faintly remembered meeting him at the reunion. Should I stay? I really wanted to, but what would that mean? I’m not ready for a relationship, I have to leave.

I scrambled around the room to find my clothes and texted Gina to tell her I was taking a taxi back home. Of course she freaked out but then she wanted to know ‘all the dirty details.’ I felt bad about just leaving so I left a note on his bedside table. I took one last look at him before I left, I couldn’t believe he had known me so long ago but didn’t say anything, walking out the door was the hardest thing I had to do.

I might have cried in the taxi a little bit, I was too in my feelings after last night. His words ran through my head over and over, he says I’m beautiful and I want to believe him but I don’t think I’ll ever believe any man ever again. I didn’t want to think about never seeing him again, that would be too much sadness for one lifetime for me.

I was back home before I knew it, Gina was passed out on the couch, when I got closer I could see that she was passed out on top of some guy. I laughed to myself and went up to my bedroom. I spent a long time in the shower, shampooing my hair and lathering my skin, I may have imagined it was Joseph touching me, last night it was like his touch set my whole body on fire, and it was amazing. I had to get out so that I wouldn’t prune up, and I was starving.

When I got back downstairs Gina was nowhere to be found so I just assumed she had gone to shower, her mystery man was gone too. I called Jason as I made breakfast so I could talk to Amelia.

    Hello?

    Hi, Jason. Is Amelia awake?

Yeah, I’ll go get her. I waited for a few moments while he gave her the phone.

    Hi mommy! She exclaimed.

Hey Amelia, how are you feeling?

I’m okay, daddy and I have been having a lot of fun.

Oh yeah, what have you guys been doing? I wondered what Jason could have been doing with her, he’s not the Disney Channel or tea party type.

He took me to get a makeover!

    A makeover? I laughed.

Yeah, I got a haircut and they did my nails. It was so fun! The food we eat is boring though, he kind of sucks at making soup. I laughed at her last comment.

That sounds really fun, don’t worry about the soup you won’t have to eat it for much longer. Have you been taking your medications?

Yes, daddy always makes sure I take them.

Okay good, I’ll come see you tomorrow after work okay?

Okay, I’m coming back home on Saturday right?

    Yes, you are.

Good, Gina said she would help me with something.

    What is it?

I don’t want to bother you with it, you’re too busy.

    "I’m not
