About this ebook

US Terms version. The GREG Crochet Blanket Pattern makes an elegant square blanket around 50" across.

GREG stands for Grand and Resplendent Endeavour in Gaiety. He is rather grand and each of the 5 patterns that go together to make GREG are named similarly - Tom, Joe, Tim, Ian are all 5" patterns and Bob is 15". Each has their own style and look but they all come together to make a statement blanket you will want to display.

GREG was designed to be made in a single, elegant colour to create an heirloom piece.

The pattern is well organised with separate chapters for the written patterns, hints and tips for each pattern and round by round pictures, easily accessible by using click-able links within the text.

As well as the patterns, you'll find joining methods, tips about gauge, a neat border pattern and links to YouTube videos for the stitches and techniques you'll need to know.

The GREG pattern can easily be changed into a rectangular shape and there are instructions for this in the ebook.

    The GREG Blanket

    What does it mean?

Let’s get the obvious question out of the way. Why GREG? The name stems from a tongue-in-cheek suggestion by an Instagram buddy when I called for name ideas for the pattern. I loved the kookiness and so GREG became the Grand and Resplendent Endeavour in Gaiety. From there, it was a simple decision to continue with male names for the individual patterns that make up GREG. A bit of fun ;)

    What is it?

The project will make a blanket roughly 50 x 50 inches square, but is easily expandable if you want a rectangular shape - notes on that are included in the layout chapter.

I have designed one large 15″ block which we will make 4 times and 4 x 5″ blocks which we’ll make in various numbers. Let me introduce you to all the fellas.

First off, there is Tom. Tom is Talismanic & Officially Marvellous and is 5" (about 12.5 cm).

Then comes Joe. Joe is Jaunty, Obliging and Earnest and is the same size as Tom.

Next is Tim. Tim is Tantalising, Invigorating and Magnificent and like his brothers Tom and Joe, is 5″ across (about 12.5 cm).

The last 5" brother is Ian. Ian is Impeccable, Astute and Noble. Ian has a split personality though - so there are 2 options for Ian. Option 1 is a bit trickier than Option 2.

The big boy is Bob. Bob is Bodacious, Outlandish and Beguiling and he’s 15" (38 cm).

GREG was designed with a single colour in mind and the patterns are written accordingly. However, of course you can rainbow the
