About this ebook

Losing someone you love is heart-wrenching. Especially a child, the loss of a son. I have decided to share the situations I faced through this book as there were false accusations, and i was looked at as the perpetrator in the death of our son. Facing 51 years imprisonment.  I pray that reading the pages of this book it will inspire and comfort you, and helps you find peace in some way.

This book is dedicated first and foremost to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Without Him nothing would be possible I wouldn't be able to share this book with others who have had similar experiences. We wouldn’t be where we are now, and have had the strength and courage to make it through all the turmoil that has come our way. To my beautiful wife Vanessa for sticking by my side through it all, and having the strength to keep going daily when the weight of the world was on her shoulders. To our beautiful 3 boys Jacobi, Jeremiah and Isaiah. How blessed and fortunate are we to have them all in our lives. Being able to make memories with each and every one of them. To my parents, for constant love, strength and encouragement. To friends and family for all the letters, for their constant support and beautiful words of encouragement! To God be the glory, honor and praise. Forever, and ever!

    Psalm 46:1-2

God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble. So we will not fear when earthquakes come and the mountains crumble to the sea. (NLT)

    Introduction

Hello. My name is Jacobi Pender. I have been happily married to my beautiful wife Vanessa Pender for 11 years now! We have been blessed with three beautiful children our boys Jacobi, Jeremiah, and Isaiah. This is a true story of the events that happened to us as a family over the past three years, including the loss of our dear son, Isaiah Treyvon Pender. He was born June 9, 2012 and then died much too soon, having been taken home to be with the Lord at the age of only five months and two days. With Isaiah’s death came the dismantling of our family as I was falsely accused, arrested, and put on trial (facing 51 years in prison) for our son’s death. Ultimately I was found not guilty, and acquitted on all charges on October 29, 2014. Our dear son Isaiah was taken home to be with the Lord on the morning of November 11, 2012. As a husband and father, I find it a true blessing to have a family. One only hopes and prays that life will be filled with love, peace, joy, and happiness, not having to endure the darker side of life.  Separation, a heavy heart, hurt, countless and endless tears, and loss. But through it all, no matter what the circumstances, God is there with you. Even in times when it’s dark and lonely, and you feel like you have no one to talk to or call on, The Lord Jesus Christ is right there with you, as He was with us.

    Beyond My Control

We had a loving, happy, God-filled home with me, my wife, our three children-sons Jacobi (six-years old), Jeremiah (three years old, and Isaiah (five-months old). I have always loved my wife, and children wholeheartedly, unconditionally! I still do but at the time herein written about, we had been happily married for nine years. I was a stay-at-home dad due to complications related to type-one diabetes. Over the years everything wasn’t perfect, but we worked very hard to make each day better than the last. We endured trials and tribulations which caused hurt, pain, and countless tears, but, ultimately our faith and trust in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ brought us through these difficult times. We had just moved into a brand new home, from a small, tight apartment. We had no complaints though because the apartment suited our needs at the time and we have always been very grateful for everything we’ve had. This was our very first new home. All the jitters of excitement came along with it. We so looked forward to making memories, enjoying life, raising our three children, and having a close family, being there for one another regardless of whatever hurdles we encountered. Life was good. God had blessed us with our third baby boy. Everything was falling into place or so it seemed. New home, good income, quiet, beautiful new neighborhood. What more could one ask for? The so-called American dream, that’s what. Our son Isaiah was a happy and healthy boy of five months. We had just taken him for his four month checkup and everything was fine. Isaiah never cried much, unless he needed something. Isaiah was a daddy’s boy made obvious by the way he would look for me when I was out
