Markings in the Cave - Paul Tait

    Author

The Self, the Ego, and the Soul

Can you watch your love divide

Can you watch your Self collide

With the Ego and the Soul

Each a part and yet aside

Can you watch the old revive

    Can you watch today subside

    Into Paleolithic sub protocol

Can the now and the then survive

Can you sense the early warnings

    Can you watch without alarming

The very fiber of your globe

Join the march to end the siege aligning

    Can you?

    A Plate Full of Lies

The interest charge on life at large

    Over spends the senior Self

Our marketing of theory could be

    -Natural

    What have we got?

    Equating love with sex

    Leads to child abuse and

    Spiritual wrecks

    What have we got?

    A plate full of lies

    Drift

Sometimes I am at a loss

I sit staring at the paper

    Wondering if I should be

    Asking why

    My life leads my time

    Away

    From you

    Tomorrow frightens…

    Me? You?

    Everyone

    So much doubt

    Locking us up

    Pretending that we are safe

    When actually we are courting

    Death

    Doubt chains our hopes

Doubt if we will ever be

    One

    Sometimes I am at a loss…

    Notes on a line

    Razor edge sharp enough

    To dull the tranquility

    Of stagnation

    Without changing the

    Color of the air

    Is there any justice?

    Perhaps

    I don’t suppose it is a matter

    Of great concern

We are all at a loss

    Wondering why our time

    Leads us astray

    From us

    one flight out

    is there hope

    when all hope reveals

    it’s sham?

    is there life in the

    midst of deadly

    doubt?

    i stand alone

    yet surrounded

    there is no way out

    i chose this path

    dare i now

    complain?

    how and why

    one
