About this ebook
Too often young teenage girls look in the mirror and they don't like what they see. I recently held a workshop for girls entitled "A Beautiful You" to help build self-esteem, confidence and make girls see how beautiful they are.
This books outlines some of what we learned in the workshop, gives tips and techniques for hair, skin and make-up and answers some of those questions girls just don't want to ask outloud, but wonder about.
Also, I provide a step-by-step guide to have your own "A Beautiful You" workshop.
Let's start a movement and tell girls all over the world "You're A Beautiful You!"

Foreword
When I was thinking about a project to pursue in my journey for a Girl Scout Gold Award, I knew I wanted it to be something worthwhile and something that would change lives.
I thought of many different ideas, but none of them seemed right. Then one day, it came to me.
I’d seen a segment on one of the morning shows about cyber bullying. I watched some of the girls they spoke to and I realized that there was something deeper going on. The bullying was bad enough, but the underlying theme was a lack of confidence, low self-esteem and poor self-image. I had this overwhelming desire to tell those girls that they are all beautiful, no matter what anyone might say. And I knew I had found my perfect project.
I decided to put together a workshop for middle school aged girls, or tweens
as my mom says (although I hate that term). I had just started my first year in a two-year cosmetology program and knowing that one step to feeling good about yourself is how you look on the outside, I decided to incorporate skin care, hair care and makeup tips. I also knew that the promise of make up would be a draw to girls that might otherwise pass up a self-esteem workshop.
But there had to be more. To be successful, we needed to go deeper; go inside of them to feelings, worries, and
