    About the Author

    ACKNOWLEDGMENTS

Many people assisted me in the preparation and publishing of this book, and I give honor to whom honor is due. First and foremost, to God be the glory. He placed this vision in my heart to further proclaim the joy of Jesus to the greatest number of readers possible.

Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion. (Philippians 1:6)

Thank you to the renowned Joel Osteen Ministries for passing on the blessing. I consider Joel Osteen a friend; I am an avid reader, listener, viewer, supporter, and fan. I hang my hat on you to love, read, and tell this compilation of 100 surefire, short, clean Joel Osteen jokes that bring a bundle of joy and encourage laughter.

My siblings and I were also reared in the church. Our experiences allow us to share some classic family stories to this very day. Some are like Chris Rock’s saying about his siblings, We were so poor, my daddy unplugged the clocks when we went to bed. Yet, we've had so many blessings, beauty, and joy throughout our lives.

While serving in the United States Air Force, I also became a part of the long, proud tradition of pranking recruits. Similarly, these clean, short jokes are shared as stories from Joel’s life, upbringing in the church, and from friends and well-wishers across the country and around the world. I recognize their contributions. They’re shining examples who inspire us all to read what they have to say. Thanks for touching our lives with yours.

Knowing the origin of this vision, which was so big in my life, gratitude [of the heart] is obliged to Rodney Perry, my best friend and former pastor, who helped me to clarify and hone my thoughts, facilitating this vision into action.

Where there is no guidance, a people falls, but in an abundance of counselors there is safety. (Proverbs 11:14 ESV)

    INTRODUCTION

A Smile Doesn’t Cost a Cent, but It Gains a Lot of Interest

Have you heard the one about the closing hymn? If you’re wondering if the closing hymn reminds you of one of Joel Osteen’s favorite jokes, you’ve heard well — I feel your eagerness. But before I share it with you or tell you this favorite let me say…

Every day is a gift from God and if that doesn’t excite you about today being a day to celebrate, then, what truly brings you joy?

So, a preacher was winding up his temperance sermon with great fervor: If I had all the beer in the world, I'd take it and throw it into the river. And the congregation cried, Amen!

If I had all the wine in the world, I'd take it and throw it into the river. And the congregation cried Amen!

If I had all the whiskey and demon rum in the world, I'd take it all and throw it into the river.

    And the congregation cried Hallelujah!

The preacher sat down. The song leader stood very
