      I expected something quite different- an exploration of female bonding or some such thing but that's not what this book is about at all. Relationships are complex at the best of times, but more so when the baggage includes an ex-wife, grown up children and over-compensation. I enjoyed that the main character negotiated all her hurdles in such an practical manner. Again with Catherine Todd books, one wonders why the protagonist has so few female friends and is so emotionally remote even from her husband. (The writer does try to explain but not in enough depth to be truly satisfactory.) I did like the message that the book is trying to convey but on the whole I found all the characters rather cold.
