    THE WIZARD MESSENGER

Something unimaginable is about to occur on Memorial Day in a San Diego park. Where a large group of visitors have gathered in memory of fallen heroes who gave their lives helping people and animals worldwide. Fortunately, these unnecessary losses of lives will soon disappear with surreal global changes. Since people don’t know about that yet, and with sad expressions on their faces while showing fear that there’s no end in sight for future wars and global catastrophes, they almost believe, it suppose to be that way.

As the atmosphere gets moist and heavier by the minute from warm tears, fetched by thirsty handkerchiefs off reddened, bloated cheeks from grief-stricken mourners with their heartbreaking sighs, and the funeral like bangs thrown by a passing marching band, the people get even more depressed. With that perception, the sympathizing musicians change their tune to America the Beautiful, hoping to lessen those cries in the park. Unfortunately, no mood change among the folks is noticed—as perilous thoughts about our troubled society and damaged planet constantly pains them—until a solution is found. That’s why some of the sad, tired crowd slowly separates and shuffles into different directions—however, a few bystanders don’t leave, because they want to stay and look for something pleasant to talk about with others.

Among them is Asahra, an African beauty, who came to California when she was two years of age. Today, her heart’s desire in helping the world is her big wish, if only she could.

The same feelings are shared by everyone else still in the park.

Suddenly in a paused moment, a gentle voice can be heard at the other end in a group of visitors with the statement that global Griefs can still be resolved with communication and compassion towards every being.

These reassuring words come from Jutta, also eighteen years old and from the northern tip of west-Germany. She settled with her parents in San Diego on her ninth birthday. Showing a sincere smile while carefully moving at a snail’s pace towards the circle of people, she hears that they agree to what she’s saying—but also notice that their forced smiles reveal negative thoughts about the never ending global Griefs.

Down and out with those beliefs, more people excuse themselves politely and move on—while twilight is finally sneaking about, ending this sad day.

Regardless, in this almost empty park, there’re momentarily still five people involved in a heavy conversation. It’s the last three park visitors, Asahra, and Jutta, who feel the need to stay a while longer.

That’s when Asahra and Jutta take a liking to each other—not sensing, their lives will soon change forever, and their hearts’ desire will be fulfilled in a strange way.

Both are getting tired, so Jutta suggests, Please, Asahra, let’s exchange phone numbers. We should both meet for a hike sometime and talk more about worldly problems. What do you say?

Sure…cool…! I was also going to ask you about that. Great!

Now better spirited than hours before, Asahra and Jutta decide to exit the park.

    * * *

With their backs turned to a huge tree where they stood and talked minutes ago—a sudden unexplainable sensation on their bodies prevents them from leaving.

    I can’t move, Jutta, I… whispers Asahra.

Yes, I feel it too. How come…? It’s so weird, says Jutta.

They look at each other with a puzzled stiff smile and wonder—why?

The other three visitors don’t know what to think; they’re flabbergasted. They see a strong burst of air, kicking a glowing football-size thing from somewhere into the huge tree, making everyone’s eyes get big and shiny from the reflection off that bright alien object, which turns the dark evening into daylight for about five minutes. Suddenly, heavenly chimes, harp strings, and ringing of massive bells like on Santa-Claus’s reindeers, gives this bright exhibition a hypnotic power that makes Asahra, Jutta, and the three park visitors seem like they’re in a trance.

Then, after three minutes, the park is shrouded once more in darkness, however, there’s still a trace of light from that thing hiding deep inside the huge tree. Jutta and Asahra know, the bright object in the tree is not a meteorite, because nothing is burning.

They’re stepping closer to the tree with the intent of climbing in and spread its heavy branches.

As Asahra and Jutta get ready to do this, rainbow colored glitter sprays out from between the twigs directly onto their bodies. The other three visitors also share some of that unusual, brilliant glitter. As soon as Asahra and Jutta touch the tree, a six feet tall creature jumps out almost on top of them. Eeeeck! is the frantic yell that echoes through the park from Asahra, Jutta, and the three visitors..

With a quick turnaround, they want to run through and out of the dark park, but can’t. They’re confused and lost their sense of direction because of the darkness that surrounds them.

An eerie quietness that gives everyone goose bumps on their backs isn’t encouraging either. Asahra and Jutta are holding their nerves steady. Not the three visitors, because they’re afraid and hide behind Asahra and Jutta.

Waiting for something to happen, everyone suddenly feels and smells the warm breath from the strange six feet tall creature on their faces, who quickly brightens the area with rainbow colored, flickering glitter woven between its soft waist long dreadlocks.

That seems to be the only place where the glitter can be seen—but who knows what other surprises the creature has in store for them.

Wow! Light everyone…now we can check each other out, exclaims Jutta. Look, the creature stares at us with kind, deep-set golden eyes.

Yeaaaah…I see, and with a warm smile. What…and, who do you think it is?

Asahra waits for an explanation from someone—especially from the strange creature, who is clearly identified as a man after two minutes by everyone because of his size and low voice.

When Asahra and Jutta think this is the right time to introduce themselves to him, Asahra tries first, but gets her tongue stuck, because of the interrupting strong voice from the strange man who makes Jutta, her, and the other three visitors feel uneasy. One visitor starts to shake and lights a cigarette.

That seems to be the wrong thing to do in front of him.

With a smile, he explains the mystery about himself, everyone is waiting for.

My name is Glueck. I’m not a strange man, but a good wizard, resembling a man. I’ve waited three days to finally meet you on this special day, Asahra and Jutta.

He is happy, and moves closer to them—but gives the visitor with the cigarette a disappointing look as he starts his important speech concerning our troubled planet and the careless behavior of the human race. Glueck also shares with Asahra, Jutta, and the other three visitors the terrible fact about the dirty atmosphere.

I hope you know the danger of air pollution. It’s mostly man made, and not taken serious enough by people. They believe it’ll soon disappear on its own; not realizing it won’t without drastic solutions. The truth is, if nothing is done quickly, more lives will vanish along with the beautiful environment.

Tense and embarrassed, the smoking visitor drops the cigarette. Then ever so slow, slides into the dark park, away from Asahra, Jutta, and Glueck—followed by that bad smelling, dirty looking ribbon of dangerous cigarette smoke.

By now Asahra and Jutta’s curiosity about Glueck reaches the highest point. The last two visitors lost their interest for this spooky experience with Glueck and want to get away from him in a hurry. That’s all right with Asahra and Jutta. They like to stay around and get more information about the importance for their meeting with Glueck. They know he came to find them—and did. What else?

He’s willing to answer and explain everything in time. For now, Glueck must ask Asahra and Jutta this question, Are you honest about hearing the unusual reason for my visit here today with you? Please think it over carefully before you answer.

Yes, Glueck, says Asahra. We’re all ears, please reveal it to us, it must be important.

So, so important…! It’s a matter of life and death for this planet. That’s why you, Asahra and Jutta, are the two specific girls wanted before your birth by the universal Peace Source for the big task of now helping to resolve global Griefs. I’ve been waiting to bring you this good news from the universal Peace Source. Even though you’ve just met each other today in this park, your friendship will grow stronger during your adventurous global Grief resolving missions.

Global missions…? What are you saying, Glueck? asks Jutta.

Suddenly, Jutta and Asahra get a little emotional about this kind of news and don’t know how to feel—happy or scared.

Yup, let me tell you, Asahra and Jutta, here’s more from the universal Peace Source.…I’ve to share something so fantastic with you, I know will excite you tremendously.

Now it’s beginning to sound even stranger—but interesting to Asahra and Jutta. It makes them sit down on the dew covered cool grass, sensing a long speech from Glueck.

It’s ten minutes after midnight and they’re wide awake. How can they not be? This encounter with Glueck, a once in a lifetime experience, is worth losing sleep over.

Go on, Glueck, we’re listening…What else is so awesome about us, other than being the wanted girls by the universal Peace Source?

Well, you see, Asahra and Jutta, what I’m about to share with you might scare you a bit. Sorry, it’s my duty to tell you. Please realize, a little fear is always there with strange unknown tasks.

"Oh man…Asahra and I don’t know what to think this moment, Glueck.

I guess you want our answer right now…?"

Yes, what do you say, Asahra? Do you feel the same way than Jutta? Shall I go on, explain to you what steps you have to take in order to help with the global Griefs?

Ja, go ahead Glueck. I hope it won’t scare us too much…I see Jutta seems wary about this surreal encounter with you.

I understand. Both of you will want to take on the global Grief missions. You’ll have many unusual adventures…and will be satisfied with the results of the Griefs’ eliminations on this beautiful planet Earth.

Really…? Now you make it sound a bit more acceptable, Glueck. What’s up with that? How do you feel, Jutta, you want to do it? asks Asahra.

Fine, might as well, I mean after all, we’re the girls…I think…we can’t escape it.

That’s true, Glueck. In fact, when it comes down to it, Jutta is right. We always had it in our hearts to make a difference on Earth, reveals Asahra, with cold feet and drippy nose from her changing blood pressure—caused by her mixed feelings about those missions, while pushing the collar on her sweater up to warm her neck, hoping her uncertainty-chill will fade quickly.

Tell, what do we have to expect to make it happen, Glueck…right Jutta…?

Who’s also pretty cold, and blows her warm breath into the air—checking out the steam produced by the cool night. With her hands resting in the back of her kneecaps to prevent them from getting numb, she shows a whatever attitude and leaves the decision making to Asahra, who seems to be a bit more excited and daring than she is.

Ja, Asahra, it’s all good with me now. Let’s cut the tension so Glueck can continue…it’s getting really interesting…!

Thanks, Asahra and Jutta, here is more you should know, he says, wrinkling his forehead sharply, hoping for no further interruption from them. Then after a minute, with a micro shiver down his body from being shy, he points out, Of course, you’re not being forced to agree; nor do anything you don’t want to do. At the same time, the brave hearts you inherited from two of your relatives, might entice you to do it…since they, as Ecologists, performed a heroic act three days ago in the mysterious Amazon jungle…

Yeah, we heard bits about them, Glueck. They were our cousins. You tell us, what did they do there that they had to die?

"Oh, Jutta, I’m telling you, it was a dangerous situation…when I, and a young Sorcerer Prince, Novahrtrut were intentionally sent by the universal Peace Source to a certain area in the Amazon jungle…Having arrived there, I, unfortunately, landed at the wrong place into a deep mud sinkhole…but Novahrtrut was lucky and found a safe spot.

Before I sank, I saw two teen girls, one white skinned, and one with brown skin. They jumped after me into the mud sinkhole, trying to rescue me. Those were your two relatives. I was close to losing consciousness. When I thought of being a goner soon, a sudden push on my body kicked me out from the mud sinkhole onto solid ground where I…

Still in shock…stared a long time at the sinkhole, waiting for the two girls to surface. Thousands of air bubbles came up, but not the girls. I looked like a sad mud statue with a bit of sparkling glitter peeking out from between my muddy dread-locks.

I’ve waited one hour. Finally, I knew then and realized…the two compassionate teen girls lost their lives while saving mine. It was devastating!

You’re probably wondering why I didn’t help myself as a wizard. How could I? To wish for something, I must wiggle the feathers on my big toes; but they were stuck in the mud below.

Looking around with teary eyes, I noticed a group of strange natives appeared from behind the trees. Before they got too close, I gave them a ten minute speech and said they could talk about my visit among their people, but not to other tribes around the Amazon region. Then I promised them you would come soon and help globally. I also shared the exciting, wonderful news about Novahrtrut with them…that he was already in the Amazon jungle, waiting for that event. Anyhow, Novahrtrut and I figured then…as soon as we came here, we could quickly find you two eighteen years old girls with different skin colors. How could we’ve known, the universal Peace Source wanted me to be rescued first from the mud sinkhole by your two relatives, three days before I would find you?

I’m sure once you meet Novahrtrut, he’ll give you more details about everything, and why he also believes, you’re the right girls for the tough global Grief missions."

Whoa, believe it or not, Glueck, we have…ahh…decided to…ahh…yeahhh…make it our…well…job. Sooo…when do we start? Will we get help? Also, will Jutta and I work together for the rest of our lives?

It’s up to you both—I hope so, says Glueck.

Jaaaaa, natuerlich, Asahra, says Jutta in German, meaning, of course.

You, and your German, let’s concentrate in English please…Jutta!

Who smiles and says, That’s cool…listen…do you hear…?

Suddenly, there are weak squeaky voices close by. They’re from doves and squirrels, hearing the entire conversation between Asahra, Jutta, and Glueck.

They point out with sad whimpers, The air pollution is so bad; our food source is covered with dirty, oily lead dust, causing death among the newborns. We beg you, Asahra and Jutta…please, help us with this terrible global mess.

This is strange…How come we can understand the animals, Glueck? asks Jutta.

Ahhh, you see, Jutta, since you and Asahra were already wanted before your birth by the universal Peace Source, you can. That’s why animals know who you are as soon as they see you.

That’s fantastic! It’ll help us tremendously during our missions, ha, Asahra?

Yes, I love it. Can you imagine?

While they both want to hear more from Glueck, Asahra glances at her watch that shows already two in the morning—but she really doesn’t care about the time right now.

Glueck senses a tad of excitement from Jutta and Asahra about their upcoming adventurous lifestyle. He must hurry and give them further instructions before they get too tired and lose their concentration—for they’re tired.

Sitting down next to them, he proceeds, "I feel you also want to know why you have to be eighteen years old. Okay, the reason is, the Sorcerer Prince, Novahrtrut, is also that age…when he came from his home, Deo Zauber, a faraway, enchanted, unknown to anyone, invisible region.

It’s on this planet…only magical beings, wizards, and sorcerers live there.

Here’s the most important thing: You must find Novahrtrut, the Sorcerer Prince, in the Amazon jungle. There’s a Wonder Region with a lake. At the bottom of it, in an enchanted garden, you search for him. He loves resting in a five feet long, purple Diamond Capsule. It’s urgent that you open it while he’s in there, so he can give his instructions to you how to face and help with the global Griefs. He’s allowed to do it for eight weeks. When that time is up and he has to go away, he hopes you’re capable of handling problems on your own…

Asahra and Jutta, you’ll want to know why your different skin colors are important. It’s to show you, somehow racism among humans must be terminated…hopefully with Novahrtrut’s help. He also has black and white body parts, and appreciates the beautiful skin color varieties. Racism is as bad as poison in candy.

Novahrtrut and I had a fine conversation before we came here. Both of us are from Deo Zauber, the invisible, enchanted region. Obviously, I’m not a prince, but a wise and good wizard of the wizard society…with three thousand years behind me…

Novahrtrut didn’t tell me everything, but mentioned, he has a great gift for you.

What exactly? He wouldn’t say. Only that it’ll help you to materialize objects and saves time when you travel.

I need to say something about an old Macaw Gnome, Mac, who resides high above a treetop in the Wonder Region over the lake where Novahrtrut with his Diamond Capsule is.

Mac watches over the area because Novahrtrut is a precious treasure. You can befriend Mac with almonds. I also must tell you…in order for you to enter the Wonder Region, you first have to find the key that opens its Phantom Gate…That key isn’t ordinary…

It’s a three inch wide, silver orchid that will entice you with a sweet orange blossom vapor. As soon as you find it, a kiss from both of you on the orchid opens the gate, allowing you to enter the Wonder Region. Then the orchid disappears and will never be seen again.

Once you’re in the Wonder Region, continuing your search for Novahrtrut, you’ll be swept away by glorious, magical surroundings with the awareness that the Wonder Region covers a large area…For a while, the pleasure will be yours with the company of beautiful colored animals and plants, surrendering heartwarming cheers as you keep walking.

Oh, about the Macaw Gnome, Mac, remember? When you meet him in the Wonder Region, he’ll give you further directions how to find Novahrtrut.

Yes, Asahra and Jutta, soon you’ll enjoy that wondrous place in its glory. That’s why I wish, maybe in two days you should get packed and take a travel vehicle towards the Amazon jungle. A chosen driver from an Amazon village is already waiting for you here in San Diego to take you as close as possible to the Wonder Region.

You don’t have to be afraid stepping into his vehicle…the passengers have no idea who you are. That’s okay, they and everyone in the Amazon villages will appreciate your help soon enough. Unfortunately, there’s no word about you around the rest of the world…but the driver, his village people, and the animal kingdom have that knowledge.

I think, dear Asahra and Jutta, there is nothing more to explain to you. Do you still have unanswered questions?" asks Glueck with a glow.

No, Glueck, now I know what you mean when you said, we’ll be thrilled with the global missions. I guess…it’s for real…we’re wanted…Asahra stammers, still shivering.

Jutta feels the same cold than Asahra and agrees with a nod. She really can’t think of anything else to say in this moment—but waiting for Glueck and Asahra to talk more about something interesting so she can get warmer. Suddenly it happens—what a sight—!

Here they are! Sparkling Glueck, trembling Jutta, and Asahra, staring at each other dumbfounded—as they break out in a loud ihoho, hihi ,haha, silly ten minutes laughter, that gives Glueck the uncontrollable urge to spit glitter-bits into the air—creating colorful clown-faced lightning bugs—dancing between Jutta’s blond curls and Asahra’s black mane.

This makes the moment even funnier. It’s a known fact, once laughter starts, stopping is hard to do.

Because of it, Arahra and Jutta have tears rolling down their faces—trying. Before they can stop, Glueck does something even more laughable. He breaks the hilarious ten minutes with a clapping noise from his sandals.

Asahra and Jutta glance down to his feet and can’t stop chuckling. Their tear blurred visions discovers—the oversized big toe on each of Glueck’s feet has a grown out, whistling blue feather that sways back and forth, because Glueck is having a good time.

Now I remember, Glueck, says Asahra, trying to be serious. Those are the feathers you told us about earlier, were stuck with you in the mud sinkhole…the reason why you couldn’t help yourself at that time…and sank.

    Correct, Asahra, you remember.

Ashamed and still feeling ticklish inside, Jutta and Asahra apologize to Glueck for laughing at his funny toes with the feathers.

Wow, Jutta sniffles, while wiping off her nose droplets created by her tummy-tight laughter. We’re something else, I must say…we do enjoy being with you, Glueck.

She really means it, controlling the urge for more unnecessary giggles.

Yes, indeed, I feel the same way about you and Asahra, with the hope, you believe what I told you about this beautiful Earth, that it must soon receive help for its painful wounds. Please, give me your promise once more before I leave this park, Glueck needs to hear again from Asahra and Jutta.

Of course, dear Glueck, you can count on us, says Jutta, looking down.

Even though she sounds sincere, Glueck has a worry wrinkle on his forehead, because he sees her insecure expression. He asks why—?

Ach, nothing…I think with treacherous obstacles in the way on our global missions, it can still be a rewarding adventurous life for us, she mumbles.

    Asahra agrees.

All right, I’m fine now, says Glueck. "I sense your faithfulness. Guessing it’s already late and you look tired, I think we shall finally separate and say good-bye. My encounter with such warm and brave human girls like you was a great pleasure. Please…don’t change!

Aim towards becoming compassionate like global Grief Resolvers."

We will…good-bye, dear Glueck, say Asahra and Jutta with a heavy heart, watching him zoom into the night as a rainbow colored glowing ball.

    * * *

It’s three in the morning, Asahra and Jutta look at each other somewhat bewildered, realizing the unusual situation they put themselves in, is too late to change. On the other hand, they don’t even want to think that—breaking their promise to Glueck would be a disaster. For sure cruel and selfish on their part—that doesn’t fit their good characters.

Knowing, that Glueck won’t appear again, they’ll go on hoping—having the ability to face the heavy loads of global problems.

Strong and determined, Jutta and Asahra decide to begin soon with the global journey. Plenty of work lies ahead of them. They know, once they’re finally in the Amazon jungle, the first thing on the list is to find the Orchid Key. Then enter the Wonder Region where they’ll find the Macaw Gnome, Mac, and the lake where Novahrtrut, the Sorcerer Prince is waiting for them in his brilliant purple Diamond Capsule.

It’s now time for them to say good night to each other. Showered with excitement, they can hardly wait to tell their parents about the mysterious encounter with Glueck.

Asahra and Jutta’s lucky break shows, they live one block away from each other.

    * * *

Being wiped out from the long visit with Glueck, they went home and slept for ten hours.

Upon their awakening the next morning, they’re glad they’ve already graduated from school. College was on their list—but it’s out of the question, realizing an exciting job is waiting for them. Asahra and Jutta’s minds are made up about that.

Another night has past and Jutta meets with Asahra to prepare for their journeys. During this task they talk to their friends and families until midnight. They see it’s late and feel, one more night of rest is vital for them if they want to be wide awake the next day and travel.

Asahra slept well, but Jutta didn’t. She goes to Asahra’s home at six in the morning and must get something off her chest before they go to the travel station, because Glueck’s story still doesn’t compute in her brain about them and the Peace Source.

"Asahra, don’t be disappointed or angry with me. I’m not sure, believing what Glueck told us. It haunts me. Since I’m a brave German girl, I’ll go with you on the global journeys, if his story is true. Well, I figure…could it be…Glueck is just a funny magician, who played a game with us for his own entertainment? I mean, Asahra, us…going around the world…getting rid of global Griefs? I know, we dream about that. Everybody has dreams, but they’ve to be somewhat possible. Don’t you think? What were we thinking…agreeing to
