      Listening intelligently

      We all learn best by doing - and listening is no exception. Prior to taking the test, IELTS candidates need to develop skills to improve their listening comprehension - for quick comprehension - and should engage in a wide range of listening activities: using news programmes, podcasts, TV documentaries, or any other materials that employ good spoken English.

      IELTS candidates should also familiarise themselves with country and regional accents found in English-speaking countries - it is particularly important to familiarise yourself with the accents of the country in which you are sitting the IELTS Test.
