About this ebook
The Visitants have lost one of their 5 'Goods' and need Jawake urgently as millions of lives are at stake if he can not be found. Zacred sent out many Visitants from their home cloud to no avail. It was decided that they would have to send for Helen James to see if she could find him. Weting takes Helen to Jawake's planet Yungr so that she can begin her search. Jawake was last seen in the market place so Helen has a starting point. Unlike markets on Earth this market only sold weapons of many descriptions but mainly swords and the like. It was at one of these swords that Helen was given 'The Ruby Sword' by Luker, the stall holder as a payment for finding his friend Jawake. It was not until later that Helen discovered that the sword had magical powers. It appears that Jawake had ben arrested and taken to the planets most secure prison - YongHul. On her way to the prison to secure Jawake's release she meets up with Druken who offers to show her the way. Can Helen secure Jawake's freedom or will the lives of the far off planet be lost? It is then that Helen first realises the power of the Ruby Sword.

Chapter 1 - I want to go to Lancaster University
The day that Helen James has been working towards for the last 18 months was nearly here.
During this time she had worked and studied hard so that she could get the grades she required to attend the Academy she needed to go to if she stood any chance of going on to the University of her choice.
With the ‘Visitants’ taking her off around the universe it was Helen’s aim to be able to study Astrophysics and put what she had discovered to some use.
All the school work had been a success as she got the grades she needed to be provisionally accepted by the Church-in-the- Woods Academy.
What worried her most was that she would have to go before a panel of teachers and be interviewed before the acceptance letters were sent out.
Only a few children from her primary school had applied to go to this Academy, mainly because the entry standards were high and many did not want to put the work in to get the necessary grades. Of the fifteen applications only ten had been asked to attend the interviews. Helen and her best friend Joan were among the ten.
The day before the interviews Helen’s Headmaster had called all those attending to his office. This was the highest number of students which had been invited for the interviews.
Well boys and girls I am very pleased that you have all been invited to the Church-in-the- Woods Academy for interviews tomorrow. You are all a credit to our school.
Have you all received your letters giving you the time of your interview?
he asked.
All the children said they had. With that he read from a sheet of paper that had been sent to him by the Headmaster of the Academy, to confirm that they had the correct times.
Is that correct?
he asked.
Sir, my letter said 1:30 not 1:35,
John said.
The Headmaster checked his list and corrected himself.
Sorry John. I misread it. Just checking you were all awake,
he said with a smile.
I know that you have all been put through mock interviews over the last couple of weeks. From all reports you have all done well but I must remind you that the people who will be interviewing you are not your friends.
What do you mean Sir?
Joan asked.
Here everyone knows you and wants you to do well. At the Academy they don’t know you and they want to keep the standards of their school high so only the best will be accepted.
Sir, will the questions be the same as we have been asked in the mock interviews?
Helen asked.
I very much doubt it Helen. Some may be the same but your answers to previous questions will depend what they ask you next.
The children looked at each other and appeared to be concerned.
The best advice I can give you is to be smartly dressed, school uniform would be best. Go in confidently and speak up and answer their questions truthfully. Don’t try and be clever, John,
he said with a grin.
Any more questions?
They all looked at each other but it was obvious to the Headmaster that most of them were looking at Helen.
If anyone was going to ask more questions it would be Helen but she said nothing.
Right as you have already been told, there will be no school for you tomorrow. All you have to do is concentrate on your interview and, please, please make sure you arrive in plenty of time. Now off you go and good luck.
They all filed out of the Headmaster’s office and went back to their classes. Helen and Joan had been told to go to the library so that they didn’t interrupt the class doing a mock exam.
Helen’s interview was scheduled for 10:15 and Joan’s was at 10:30 so they decided that they would go together. The bus would get them there at 10:00.
Before she left home Helen’s mother inspected her to make sure she was dressed correctly and that she had not made a mess of anything like her shoes, but she looked very smart. Her mother was very proud of her little girl.
Although her mother had been against her applying for this school, Helen had not only persuaded her mother that this was the right school for her, but had worked so hard to get the right grades.
Helen kissed her mother and left the house for the bus stop. She only had a few minutes to wait before the bus arrived. Joan was sitting three rows back from the front of the bus and had reserved a seat for Helen.
Will we be on time?
Joan asked.
Yes,
Helen said confidently.
The bus drew up outside the Church-in-the- Woods Academy at five minutes to ten o’clock. The two of them walked towards the school’s reception. They pressed the intercom button and a voice asked them what they wanted.
I’m Helen James and my friend is Joan Sampson. We are here for our interviews.
Push the door when you hear the buzzer and come to the desk,
the voice told them.
There was an instant ‘buzz’ at the door. Joan pushed against the door and it opened, allowing them into the reception area.
On the far side was a desk with a sign ‘INTERVIEWS’ hanging down the front. Behind sat a woman who had a clipboard in front of her with the list of all those due to attend the interviews.
Good morning. Your name please,
she said, addressing Joan.
Joan Sampson.
Ah yes. You’re a bit early aren’t you dear?
We came together on the bus,
Joan replied.
All right, if you would take a seat over there, someone will come for you and take you to the interview room when the time’s right.
And your name?
she addressed Helen."
Helen James.
Oh yes,
she said as she looked at her watch.
If you would sit with your friend for a few minutes, you’ll be going through soon.
Helen went and sat next to Joan. Neither of them spoke as they were getting themselves together for their interview.
Helen had just got to the point of how she was going to walk into the interview room when a student from the Academy came up to her.
Helen James?
Yes.
My name is Sylvia and I’m here to take you along to the interview room. I’ll also wait with you and bring you back to reception afterwards,
she said.
This made Helen feel much easier. The thought of trying to remember all the twists and turns they were doing was not a good thing, she was sure she would get lost. ‘I could always call for Hyming to help’, she thought to herself.
Soon they arrived at the interview room door and to its right were two empty chairs, one for the interviewee and one for their guide. Sylvia sat next to the door and Helen sat next to her.
To the left there were another two chairs. One was occupied by a boy in the Academy’s uniform, presumably waiting for the person being interviewed.
No sooner had they sat down than the door opened and a boy in jeans and a t-shirt came out of the interview room.
Helen looked at him and at Sylvia as the two boys walked off down the corridor heading back to reception.
Dressed like he would have to be a genius for them to accept him,
