Introduction
On a cruise or a night out on the town, cocktails are your best bet for a great time. No matter the occasion, without a cocktail you are definitely missing out. In this book, we will introduce to you some of the best Caribbean cocktails, how they are made, their origin, and about their ingredients.
You will find cocktails for every palate and occasion; both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. The cocktails presented are done with a twist to help make them your own. We’ve substituted some of the rare ingredients with easy to find items that you can pick up in your local grocery store.
Cocktails provide a refreshing alternative to wines and liquors. While bourbons, whiskeys and brandies can be served on the rocks or neat, and are great for warming the stomach in cold climates, Caribbean cocktails are for keeping you cool. Most cocktails include the blending of ice cubes along with the main ingredients to offer an icy cold drink in warm weather.
You will find that all of, or most Caribbean resorts are known for their cocktails. Some even have their own special blends that are synonymous with their particular hotel brand.
Beaches are also known for their cocktails. Popular beach cocktail may be served in a coconut or a hollowed pineapple. Some many choose to serve their cocktail in a watermelon! Caribbean resorts will present their cocktails in weird and wonderful ways but the ingredients remain fundamental to the taste.
The younger members of the family can also enjoy a refreshing cocktail without the alcohol. Some drinks famous for their alcohol-free versions are the Daiquiri, Pina Colada and the Afterglow.
There is such a wide variety of cocktails but you do not have to be a trained bartender to mix your own, in this book we will show you how.
