The Home Green House and the Garden
A home green house is a good investment for the serious gardener. A greenhouse's uses can include starting seeds in the early spring, propagating cuttings in the summer and over wintering nursery stock.
A green house need not be an expensive structure. The gardener can build a greenhouse rather inexpensively using off the shelf items from a hardware store. To cut costs the gardener may use construction grade plastic for a year, discarding it after one season's service. It is possible to use a portable gas heater to heat the greenhouse as long as the gardener supplies proper ventilation. If the green house finds use only during the late winter period, heat needs are minimal, depending upon what type of plants are grown.
If your flower or vegetable garden is large, the greenhouse will pay for itself after a couple of seasons. You will also have many more choices for plants that you can grow, as there are
